   <title>projects.blender.org web migration complete</title>
   <link>http://projects.blender.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=419</link>
<description>Finally, after a long wait, the website of projects.blender.org has been migrated to Fusion Forge 5.0.1 and the layout has experienced an overhaul - integrating it more with the rest of the blender.org related sites.

SVN and Mailing Lists aren\'t yet migrated, so their integration is still lacking. Probably in the first week of January 2011 this will be handled.</description>

<title>New Version 1.03 fo Mac, Linux and Windows!</title>
   <link>http://projects.blender.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=361</link>
<description>After 2 years the Piovra Team relases a new version of the &amp;quot;Italian Renderfarm&amp;quot; script.
In those last years we used Piovra adding and removing code, functions, options and naturally fixing bugs.

A short change log:

Added some features in piovramaster and piovraserver python scripts, now piovramaster shows:
- Elapsed Time
- Remaining Time
- Avarage time per frame
and some other statistics at the end of the render process, like Avarage time per frame, and number/percentual of rendered frame, for all the singles slaves, .

Other little improvements and fixes aroud the commands:
- &amp;quot;piovramaster -exec / -execall&amp;quot; commands now support also command with multiples arguments
- &amp;quot;piovramaster -stopall&amp;quot; (fixed a bug)
- &amp;quot;piovramaster -recv / -recvall&amp;quot; now deletes the received files from the nodes (usefull for the slaves with a small hard-disk), making Piovra faster and cleaner to use
- new &amp;quot;piovramaster -stop [hostname or hostip]&amp;quot; that stop a slave without deleting it from the slave's list, so you can receive files or run command on that slave without the need to add it a second time to the slave's list.

In the Download page there's the zip archive containing the scripts and the installer for Linux and Mac. If You are using windows, and you don't know how to do, install first the old version (1.02) with the windows installer (.exe).
At the end of this installation replace the directory PiovraPyScripts with the new one You can find in the zip archive.

<description>Ben Discoe from the virtual terrain project has published a very good tutorial on how to export from Blender to OSG with this exporter. You can find it here:

   <title>Animations, and, umm, folks, seriously?</title>
   <link>http://projects.blender.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=301</link>
<description>Good news: I actually touched the exporter code, and it may be likely that finally, we may have some kind of animation exporter out there in near future! It may output garbage, it may be full of bugs, and I may never understand how the hell Blender's action system works, really, but it will do something!

Bad news: The Python API is officially weird, or maybe Blender is *too* flexible for this stuff. There's no link whatsoever between Actions and Objects, it seems. As a result, it seems impossible to satisfy my own requirement of No Nwnprops Items The Program *Should* Know About Already. So, it all boils down to this: due to the fact that the API can't do everything, you users need to do some funny little exercises of your own if you want to get stuff animated.

More bad news: All of my code is really, really awful. I need someone who has written some Blender/Python code to take a look at the code. Preferrably someone who might actually do some new work on the program. Really. I'm sure there's tons of ewwww-worthy stuff there. Lots of stuff that needs improving. My problem is that I get headache from double underscores and my Perl programmer's Laziness means that I try to avoid working on code that doesn't make sense.

Also, I'm getting the feeling nobody is using the program for anything. Has anyone actually USED the thing on anything? All I hear from users is &amp;quot;how do I get this thing to work?&amp;quot; so most of my job with this thing has been writing new stuff for the installation guide. =( Also, I don't know damn about low-poly modeling in general and NWN modeling in particular, I just write this code that spits out these model files. I'd be terribly curious if this thing is actually usable for any real-world stuff. So, an informal survey: if any of you has used this for anything, please tell me - wwwwolf@iki.fi. Message subject may be anything as long as it contains &amp;quot;NeverBlender&amp;quot;.
