subdivide face problem

hello Blender Team.
1) when i use the subdive in a face it work one time but if i select another face of the same object and try to subdivide it doesn`t.
2) when i use the subdive in a face it work one time but if i select another face in the same face that i selected for subdivide it work but if select another the face next to him the subdive dont work.
im using the last version of blender 2.6.3-r-46461 and the last compiled 2.63-r50258 and all of them have the same problem.
Windows xp 32bit sp3, intel core Duo e7200 , intel gma 3100 , 2 gb ram

ups.. try this problem adding a simple cube and in edit press w and use subdivide next select another face and press w again and select subdivide

Sorry. I'm wrong. It does not subdivide the face, it subdivides the edges and creates an ngon. This is expected since the neighboring quad (the second) is already not a quad anymore. It has 5 edges before subdivision, so subdivide simply behaves differently in this case. I guess this is not a bug, but maybe a missing feature.
The feature would be: Split an ngon like a quad if one vertex is more or less exactly in the center between two neighbor vertices.

yes look like, but the subdivide is a basic tool :( any solution?

You could use the knife tool (K) instead. If you press Ctrl while drawing it will automatically snap to the center of edges. That way you can replace subdivide with two cuts.
