Detailed description

When I import an 2.49-.blend-File then the Vertex-Colors of the Meshes with MultiRes are messed up. And also the Flat/Soft-Shading are getting lost. (everything is flat)

OS: Linux (openSUSE Factory)
3D-Card: NVidia Geforce 9800 GT
Blender: Current Trunk (2.50.11 r25848)

confirmed, loading 2.4 multires vertex colors gives bad results. There are also ME blocks unused and not freed (on quit).

In 2.5, there's no support for multires vertex colors yet (outside of my gsoc branch.) So there's going to be some data loss when bringing in that kind of data. However, the level-0 data does seem to be importing incorrectly, so I'll look into that.

Ton -- I didn't get any errors about unfreed memory, can you check on what the cause is?

I committed a fix for loading the level-0 data. Hi-res vertex color data is unfortunately lost in 2.5; I'd consider that less a bug and more of a TODO though, so closing this bug.
