Srrollwheel errors in 3D view *NEED MORE INFO*
Detailed description
Manipulation in the Default layout, the 3D view is always fine. Switch the Properties area to 3D view (perspective), the scroll zooming will behave as if very close to object. The panning will fix the pivot inside the camera (MMB+drag, not sure if it's panning). This also happens in some 3D views of other layouts, but eg. in Sequencer when you change the Sequencer area to D view, it works fine.
r32714 on Ubuntu 9.10

Transforming an object in the perspective view doesn't work usefully when you are zoomed in very far. is this the problem you are reporting?
if not, can you explain in more detail what this un-expected bahavior is.
from your report I cant tell how to redo the problem.

1) Default blender file is enough to start with, try to zoom in on the cube, should work.
2) Change the Properties panel to 3D View (opens as top perspective in my Blender)
3) Try to zoom in on the top of the cube using the scrollwheel, the Camera doesn't move at all. Using numpad +- it seems to work OK.
4) Try to Shift-MMB drag move the scene, doesn't work either. Ctrl or Shift scrolling works OK.
5) Try to MMB drag rotate the scene, it rotates around somewhere inside the camera (seems to have something to do with the clipping plane)
This all happens with Auto depth enabled, disabling it hasn't helped.
Hope I got it better this time...

Hi, I tested this again but cant find any problems.
1) can you confirm that this happens on a default blendfile. 'File->Load Factory Settings'
2) can you cause this bug with auto depth disabled, as well as enabled?
3) if its not too hard, could you record a video of this problem, I'm having trouble to understand this report. Otherwise can you give exact steps from Factory Settings to redo just one of the bugs you list.
4) What do you mean by "doesn't work", can you explain exactly what happens and what view you are in, the list of problems you give I'm not sure if you are in camera view for some steps.
5) You mention the clipping plane, is this the Views clipping plane or the cameras?
6) Did this used to work? or is this just different behavior to what you would expect?

Sorry, desktop recording makes my system unusable.
Finally tracked:
1) In the default file, Default layout, try to zoom in on the default cube.
2) Change the Properties panel to 3D view
3) Try to zoom in in the 3D view created in 2)
4) Enable autodepth and repeat 3), it shouldn't zoom in at all.
5) Disable autodepth and repeat 3) one more time, note that it does the same as in 4)
I'm never in camera view, there it is all good. I wrote Camera meaning the camara the wiewport is drawn from.
The clipping plane is the one of the viewport.
This definitely used to work, I've been using Autodepth since it's been released.
And sorry for stealing your time, I thought my english was good enough but it seems I'm having problems in expressing myslef.

I made some fixes to view depth code recently,
this probably resolved the problem.
closing.
