Detailed description

Platform: OSX 10.6.4 64bit / Ubuntu 10.04 32bit

in Blender 2.54.0 r31878

start a new file cmd+n
in render settings panel
change the Resolution value for X and Y in the Dimensions subview
press + near Render Presets
insert a name (I've tested single letter, letter and number)
press Enter (name input window still remain opened, I need to click elsewhere to close it)
now in the preset selection I don't see the new preset!!

After some test I've found the new preset is created but its name is always
"add render preset.py"
