Detailed description
In compositor, manipulating the shaded sphere of the Vector Normal node in N panel doesn't work, only doing it on the sphere of the node itself.

    I can not reproduce it.
    Normal can be manipulated in N panel, here.

  • I'm sorry, I rushed out everything not even explained the problem very well and forgot to put computer specs and Blender version.

    First things first, the problem is that Vector Normal node in N panel we can manipulate the shaded ball as normal, but it has no effect in the composition at all, we must manipulate it on the node itself. Looks like in the N panel it's not calling some form of refreshing function or something.

    To reproduce the problem, create a simple scene, check to render the normal pass, output the dot product to a viewer or to the final composition. Then try manipulating the shaded ball in the Vector node and in the N panel properties. In N panel it doesn't update the composition.

    I'm using Blender 2.55 rev. 32884 on Windows 7 64bit in a MacPro with ATI 4870 video card.

    Additional note: Every time you change the name of the node, it updates correctly.
