The problem I am having is when I setup a few nodes for a net render, the master node spits out a bunch of 202 http errors while trying to pull the filename from the slave nodes.
I am using the same build on each machine, specifically the latest 2.55 beta that was released the other day from blender.org. I am using Ubuntu 10.10 (64bit) with a 32bit build of blender due to a release bug with the package.
It does seem that the slaves are receiving the job and outputing image files under /tmp as one would expect, but the sending back of the job (due to filename problems?) seems to be preventing the master from collecting the results properly.
Attached are some of the console outputs from the master and slave node. Hope this helps.

From the logs, it seems there was an error generating the thumbnails on the slave. Disabling that option (on the slaves) will probably help you get some results back.
I've removed some bugs in the thumbnailing code shortly after 2.55 (revision 32745), so if you can try a svn build, maybe that solves it.
Moreover, I've just added more error checking (revision 32955), which should also help us pinpoint the exact error.

Yup, disabling thumbnail generation did the trick and allowed the results to be sent back to the master.
I will let you know about an SVN build retest.

Awesome! I can confirm that this issue has been resolved in at least r33347.
I can view the thumbnail in the browser now by clicking show, and the slaves have no problem uploading their thumbnails to the master.
I would consider this matter closed myself, thanks!
