Summary:
Crash when parenting ni local view through the outliner
Detailed description
When you isolate one object in the local view, select another one in the outliner, and then try to parent them. It crashes.

The selecting order seems to matter in the way it bugs. If the future child object is in the local view, it does crash. If it's the parent that is in the local view, it does not crash, but still it's not parenting.

Last SVN is used (r32982), Ubuntu Linux 64.
It's replicable on Windows.

The bug have been spotted by François Grassard, but he has no time to do the report, so I take care of it :).

  • Hi,

Thanks for the discovery. The issue has been investigated and is known. Campbell will tackle it.

There is a conflict in how operators check active-object context ("poll") and how they retrieve the active object itself. We need to unify this in a good way.

  • Closing this report since the crash is fixed but Ill still need to go over all cases of this and clear up the active object context functions.
