Summary:
Reports on the Info Header cause flicker
Detailed description
Run any action that causes a report to be issued on the Info Header, e.g. press F in edit mode with no verts selected.

Immediately press C for circle select or B for box ecc.

The overdrawn dotted lines flicker for as long as the report stays on the Header.

I don't think this is hw or driver related but anyway I'm on Ubuntu 10.04, NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS with latest linux drivers from NVIDIA website.

  • Confirmed, the fancy animated "sliding back" of the report causes this. I guess it's done by Matt?
Matt: if you don't have time, bounce it back to me, then I check.

  • It was happening in triple buffer mode, wrong check for redraws.
I also noticed the redraw timer for reports was aggressively set to 50 pfs, for 10 seconds.
    made it more friendly
