Detailed description
I've attached a blend file.

Just enter texture paint mode, and everything you'll see will be a white mesh.

If you enter face selection mode the texture will appear though.

I've checked this in 2.55 official and it works OK, no bug present.

    confirmed that texture appear if face selection masking is enabled.
    Same behavior if GLSL is replaced by default Multitexture .

    If Viewport Shading is set Textured instead of Solid; enabling face selection masking does not show texture or face selection with GLSL.

    Juan: I also don't understand 'face selection mode', we don't have that anymore. It's editmode now, with face selecting option on.

    The issue seems that GLSL draw-mode doesn't show textures anymore?

  • fixed unset color with face selection masking r33318.
    looking into why this changed since 2.55.
