"Export UV Layout" stalls when saving file in 2.55b
Detailed description
Tried saving file multiple times in several different locations including root folder on Mac OSX (Snow Leopard). Export button would always remain "depressed" and though cursor was movable, no interaction with the GUI was possible. Had to force quit each time. Works fine in 2.49.

This is not enough information, could you provide the blend file which shows this behavior or exact steps to redo this report from the default startup blend.

The 24 unmapped faces had UVs covering the UV area and took a long time to fill.
simple solution is to remove UV doubles.

confirmed.
2.5 have difficulties to save superimposed UVs.
Steps to reproduce:
_Subdivide twice default cube.
_Unwrap with Smart Project.
_Export UVLayout. -> No Problem
_Call Unwrap Menu and Reset UVs.
54 faces of subdivided cube are superimposed in UVEditor.
_Export UVLayout. -> Blender takes a long time to do the job.
But for the 334 faces of frog's teeth, blender can't do it.
