Summary:
Crash when rendering a crossfade between scene and another image.
Detailed description
Open Blender's VSE and add a scene strip. Then add another strip (movie or color, for example) and a cross strip between them. Then try and render in the middle of the cross strip. Blender renders the scene, but crashes when trying to sequence it. This fails for animation as well as rendering stills.

This crash also happens when using (instead of a crossfade)...
- Multiply
- Alpha Over (and probably alpha under/over drop)
- Wipe
- etc.

It does not crash when you render a transformed (with transform strip) scene. However, attempting to cross that transform strip with another strip also causes a crash.

The crash does not occur when applying a cross between two images from the disk (movies and images).

Tested on r33437, Windows 7 x64

  • Thanks! Fix is in svn now. The code lacked proper allocation of float or byte buffers. Wonder how this survived so long...

  • Well, it worked in earlier builds, so I think the problem was created by something else.
