  • Propertional editing works fine here.
Please respect our bug reporting guidelines. It's not there for nothing...

) This bug tracker is for end-user issues with Blender binaries

Don't report problems with compiling or building Blender. Check our Get Involved page how to connect us in IRC or on mailing lists.
Always verify issues with official releases on blender.org as well.

    2) Is it a real bug?

Keep updated on our official todo list, issues there don't need to be reported.
Is it something that is supposed and intended to work? (e.g. not a feature request or something you expect to work)
We love redo-able crashes! These get fixed easily.
Reports should be repeatable by others consistently.
To rule out issues with your system, check on another computer if possible.
Sometimes driver or s/w upgrades cause problems, try a previous release that worked to verify this.

    3) Reporting a bug

Mentioning you have an error is not sufficient, make sure others can repeat this.
Always mention your OS version, 3D card type and Blender version.
Own compiled versions: include svn version nummer from splash screen. Don't forget to test our official release too.
Don't provide long recipies, find the minimum amount of instructions showing us how to redo it.

  • To repeat the funny behavior (if it s not a bug) :
    Windows seven, blender 2.56
If you are in face selection mode, switch the pivot to individual origine mode, the proportional edition wil not work anymore in face mode. Only work for edge or vertex.

  • I added 4 planes in editmode, and it works fine... you really should attach a .blend file example with your setup, that saves a lot of guessing.

  • I think it s my mystake because it s working, but not correctly. the behavior between individual origin and face prportional editing is diffrent from vertex or edge or face in individual origin. or compare to face proportional editing with median point.
here is an attached file. 5 geometrys : first nothing done; second in the left up corner, edited in edge mode with propotional editing and indiviual center pivot, third in the right up corner, edited in face selecton mode with proportional editing and median point center pivot.; fourth in the left down corne edited in vertex mode with propotional editing and indiviual center pivot; the last one in the right down corner show the strange result, edited in face mode with propotional editing and indiviual center pivot

  • The file is incomplete? I only see two examples.
Your issue is also very hard to grasp... the option "individual origins" has a very limited scope in editmode, for connected faces/edges/vertices it won't give acceptable results. It's meant to work for individual loose faces or edges.

  • I reposte it. Hope you will see the trouble this time. it s like if the efect of proportional editing was weak and irregular. You can for exemple take a cube extrude a face 2 time and select one of the center faces on the lenght. And move it away 5 units with proportional editin , in individual origine mode. once in vertex mode, second in face mode.
I really often individual origine to shape multiple finger at once for exemple. and if you switch to rotate or scale (i use it really often) the proportional editing is almost deasapearing (i would say that it don t work at all). if you refresh by switching to vertex it work but not as individual pivot more like median point. So there is something wrong with the individual pivot mode : in vertex mode or edge mode it switch to median point pivot behavior and in face mode it act a litle in translate. but i can t see anyy real neighbour action in rotate or scale mode.
I did a little movie. Hope it help.

  • This is a known limitation. proportional editmode + face center combination doesn't work.
disable PET in this case to make it more obvious that PET being disabled is intentional r34221.

    closing.
