Detailed description
The OBJ importer fails when it tries to assign vertex groups. Other scripts also fail in a similar way. Luckily there is a patch to fix all this.

  • You have only applied one of the patches, you forgot the other.

  • The patch contained a change which created all vertex groups first, however On my tests this wasn't needed.

    Could you provide an OBJ file which needs this change?
    This is more likely a bug in the API then the OBJ importer.
