BUILD : r33949, Windows ver. NVIDIA 8600 GT M

DESCRIPTION :

I have an instant crash of blender when I try to use image paint while in another window is rendered objects that use that texture as a part of NODE based material. Texture is is packed into blender file as PNG. It is a typical RGB without alpha channel, not using custom brush or texture paint mode. Blend do not crash immediately after paint it takes a while few seconds or you can draw a while texture refreshes and all seems OK but then CRASH. Sometimes it crashes on load of blend file. I have attached a blend file with image window having this texture, you can reproduce it hopefully. Thanx.

NOTE :
I do not post external images witch are part of this material too. You can you some dummy images you create. My original images are typical TGA.
WHEN I USE REMAP RELATIVE ON SAVE PROBLEM DISAPPEARS. Images with full path are rendered OK and everything seems fine
but in this case it procude instant crash.

  • Whee, a threading issue probably! Always interesting to dive into, will do within a day (I hope ;)

  • The issue was mainly caused because you were painting on a float image, that's why errors went away easily. :)
    Found a couple of very good fixes for this, is in svn. Your demo file works fine now too.

  • Thank you, actually I don't wanted float textures. I gess I try to build blender my self to get more actual code.
