Boolean doesn't work in command-line rendering (2.56)

Detailed description

OS X 10.6.2, tested with BF build (2.56, r34052) and a later r34477 build by tkroo at graphicall
Discovered (and thus confirmed) on multiple machines by a sharp-eyed employee at Greenbutton (render farm company)

TO REPRODUCE:
Render the attached blend with the Blender UI (animation, 11 frames) which uses a couple basic boolean modifiers. The expected images are returned.

Then render the blend through the command line, e.g.:
./blender -b ~/booleanTest1.blend -a

The resulting images this time will NOT include any of the boolean modifiers. (Stills from both approaches to rendering attached as well.)

Fix committed, thanks for the report! This was actually a really good bug as it effected all object data that wasn't animated. Now all object data is updated for background rendering too!
