Detailed description

I am using Blender SVN 34563,

I was on BA and noticed this conversion:

The problem happens when you link in an object from another file that is contained in a group and the object you are linking from has a particle system upon it.

Attached is a zip file while contains 2 blend files. Hair.blend has a cube with a hair particle system on it. The cube has been placed inside of a group. The other blend file linked in the grouped object, and then duplicated it with shift+d and then alt+d.

When you render the result, the Original linked in object Ob1 and Ob2 don't render the particle systems, while Ob3 does has a particle system.

Yet looking at the 3d viewport output all object have particle strands displayed.

Not sure if this is a bug but it looks like one given that the particle display in the viewport.

Fix committed in r34606, thanks for the report! This was a really good one!

It wasn't actually about the way the duplication was done (alt vs. shift+d), but only the first processed object (last created) was rendered properly with particles. Now everything should work properly!
