Detailed description
Bug experienced in filiciss' 34842 x64 win. I was able to reproduce it the first time I tried in his r34861, and it's displayed the same incorrect way on my own 34884 x32. Attached is a blend with a multires cube, with a hair particle system with density controlled by a packed texture. Note the random (incorrect) hair placement seen in the camera view. Rendering the scene (3 seconds 200 mb) shows the proper mapping. Back in 3D View, going to Texture Paint mode also shows the correct mapping (until we go back to Object mode). Unfortunately, Particle Mode also shows the particles in the incorrect location, preventing combing. View of my screen of camera viewport and final render buffer attached.

  • Fix committed in r34902, thanks for the report!

    Particles weren't getting the uv-data through the modifier correctly when uv-coordinates were being used in a particle texture.
