It's not crashing anything but I think that it's not the right way as it may works.
toDo:
1. move Solidify down
2. Now Edge Crease on the mesh level works.
I think (if I'm guessing right) that somewhere Edge Crease values are playing in a bad way.
If Rim Crease does it's work in the same way as Edge Crease then it's more naturally that Edge Crease will be the main and will be setting "the clump" (the ceiling) for any edge's crease so Solidify's crease will be only additive. I think it's naturally because of this default look in my .blend and that swapping modifiers gives drastically different results those are looking bad in // Solidify, Subsurf // position.
Also I want to report here another bug that you can see in EdgeCrease_distort.blend which is causing by something when MeanCrease is set by specific value.

made edge crease innter/outer additive r35375.
There are indeed problems with subsurf crease jumping however this is known error with the existing method.
I'm not familier with the subsurf code but I think its a known problem with the method we currently use.
Closing this report since the solidify error is resolved, for other issues open a new report.
