Hi,

I've observed that opening or creating a Point Density texture within a material (doesn't look like it has something to do with material type, volume/surface/and so), and in the Point Density panel changing the "color source" option to anything other than Constant, in 2.57 RC1, crashes or ruins the colorband doing very weird things, like many phases automatically added, or erasing the ones already created.

I've tested in 2.56 and there's no such problems.

It seems too that there's no difference in opening files with this texture type from previous versions or creating from scratch in Blender 2.57 RC 1 to experience this problem.

I attach a file in which I have been able to select Particle Age, for example, but not able to do anything else within the colorband itself. Sometimes as I said blender simply crash when selecting Particle Age. Actually, it seems that Point Density is generally speaking unstable, not only regarding on this issue with "Color Source". In reproducing these steps, Blender crashed even after simply selecting this texture type and before doing anything else other than scrolling over the Properties Window.
