Also the key idea that all shapes should be different, so if vertex = quad with dots, face should be circle or triangle, not quad.

IMO consistency is nice thing, but icons at 1st place should be descriptive and should help to catch a string with a glance. So i would prefer if both, snap icons and menu icons will meet…
