3D View:
In quad-view mode, the options to set back/bottom/left views were
blocked. Now they work again.
Note: the oparator polls don't have a check for properties... so it
cannot be finegrained here. Checks are inside code.
- made theme colors for mesh edge len & face angle/area display.
- use %g rather then %f for float display, trims unneeded zeros.
- store cached 2d and 3d text color as bytes rather then floats, compare when drawing to avoid setting the context.
- use unsigned char for more color functions, avoids casting to glColorubv().
- glReadPixels() was running to get the depth on each pixel, this works fine one some cards but was locking up on OSX.
- Replace glReadPixels() call with a single call to view3d_update_depths() right after view3d_validate_backbuf(), so the depths are only read once.
- Unrelated to the changes above, but should improve performance: view3d_validate_backbuf() was being called on every redraw while combing, now only call once when combing starts.
- ascii text drawing functions, slightly faster since they dont have to do hash lookups & utf8 conversions for each char.
- used ascii drawing functions for the view3d's number display.
- each text item was using fixed 128 chars, now only allocate the string length needed.
running a shape actuator on a softbody would crash because it assumed the deformer was a BL_MeshDeformer.
Added TODO note, since it would be nice if softbody would work with shape keys too.
The problem is the opensource nvidia nouveau drivers are slow running glReadPixels(), was hanging on memcpy().
However for autodepth its not needed to update the entire 3D view depths, so added view3d_update_depths_rect() to get the depths for a smaller area.
- also fixes a problem where xray+transp+alpha1.0 objects wouldnt draw at all.
- the patch worked by adding twice but this leaked memory.
- solve by adding the xraytransp object to the xray list if the alpha is 1.0
also made drawing in camera view stick to the camera border (belated durian request),
useful for animation review without worrying about screensize moving the overlay about.
Partial revert for commit r 27946
Empty/axis xyz text is now purely aligned to object space. Previous 3d view matrix manipulation
stuff that I added wasn't correct, and causing more problems than it solved. Perhaps someone
can tweak this later to be fixed size/screen aligned, but for now this is less annoying.
The problem was that the v3d could have a different camera to the scene even when locked.
VIEW3D_OT_viewnumpad was ignoring v3d->scenelock option and allowing an invalid state.
Orbiting the view while in camera mode now starts from the camera view rather then switching back to the last user 3d view settings.
* I added this some years back but it was rejected, however it was requested today for durian because with set scenes its not always easy to select whats infront of the camera to navigate to it.
Its possible to end up in an annoying situation where you are looking at the main characters head (in a set scene), but when you orbit the view, the camera jumps 500+ BU away and you need to manually navigate back to what you were just looking at.
* If a user wants to go back to the view they had before entering the camera view they can still press Numpad zero which toggles.
This replaces the screen-aligned bitmap text drawing with wireframe x/y/z as
part of the empty axis openGL code. It's a lot faster in all situations that draw
empty axes to screen - including posing armatures with axes on (5fps vs 40fps
on tracker test file).
Multiple background images displaying each on a different axis.
Changes made from the original patch.
- Use an enum rather then multiple booleans.
- Reduced the space taken up by the user interface.
- Made the image template compact display not show fields & premul options.
- Added readfile.c lines so old blendfile images are loaded.
- Option to hide BGpic UI (like modifiers & constraints)
- Use the index rather then a bgpic from the context for the remove operator.
note: could be good to use 1 image for both left+right, for eg, but for this to work as intended we would need to add image flipping depending on the axis so left this commented out for now.
translate/rotate/scale, for people to bind to shortcut keys.
wm.context_set doesn't work well here since it just toggles each component on/off.
Fixes [#19730] Missing/conflicting keymaps for "Change Manipulator Mode" function
Good defaults for this can be decided on for an updated 2.5 key layout.
Patches by Jonathan Smith (jaydez)
Add a Cursor Center entry in the snap menu (Shift-S) to reset the cursor to 0,0,0. Also rename the view_center operator to view_selected to reflect better what it does (in the code only, description and name were already ok).
This commit sets up some of the groundwork necessary to extend the animation visualisation capabilities, previously only available for bones in PoseMode, to Objects as well. Also, some of the other goals of this refactor is to make future visualisation goodies (i.e. editable paths) more feasible...
(There's really nothing to see here yet. The following log notes are really just for my own reference to keep track of things.)
Currently, the following things have been done:
* New datastructures + settings have been tidied up, ready for usage
* Added these new types into the Object and PoseBone code as necessary, with freeing/adding/copying accounted for
* File IO code for the new data, including version patching to convert the old system to the new one.
* Set up the drawing system for motionpaths based on the old armature path drawing code. Armatures still draw using the old system, since the two systems use different storage systems.
* Started setting up the motionpath 'baking' code, but the core of this still needs to be coded...
Next Steps (after some semi-urgent Durian Driver changes):
* Port the ghosting/onionskinning code over too
* Finish motionpath baking code
* RNA wrapping for the new types
* Hooking up all the new code into the operators, etc.
* Restored Center View to 3D Cursor. For now, I've mapped this to QKEY since all other nice combinations of CKEY have been taken now.
* Fixed bug introduced in commit last night where parenting lattice to armatures with deforms would no longer work.
Keymaps are now saveable and configurable from the user preferences, note
that editing one item in a keymap means the whole keymap is now defined by
the user and will not be updated by Blender, an option for syncing might be
added later. The outliner interface is still there, but I will probably
remove it.
There's actually 3 levels now:
* Default builtin key configuration.
* Key configuration loaded from .py file, for configs like Blender 2.4x
or other 3D applications.
* Keymaps edited by the user and saved in .B.blend. These can be saved
to .py files as well to make creating distributable configurations
easier.
Also, user preferences sections were reorganized a bit, now there is:
Interface, Editing, Input, Files and System.
Implementation notes:
* wmKeyConfig was added which represents a key configuration containing
keymaps.
* wmKeymapItem was renamed to wmKeyMapItem for consistency with wmKeyMap.
* Modal maps are not wrapped yet.
* User preferences DNA file reading did not support newdataadr() yet,
added this now for reading keymaps.
* Key configuration related settings are now RNA wrapped.
* is_property_set and is_property_hidden python methods were added.
- access with the F key, Ctrl+Alt+F in editmode, View->Navigation menu
- camera, perspective & 4split (perspective view only)
- uses modal keymap, (same as 2.4x).
- bugfix since 2.4x, when flying upside down, turning left/right was inverted.
- bugfix for "Align Camera To View", was using deprecated v3d->ofs rather then rv3d->ofs, fixed for NDof fly too. checked v3d->ofs is only used in readfile.c
Todo
- Warping the cursor removed in 2.5, no way to place the cursor in the middle of the view.
- Adding keyframes while in flymode to record the path is missing.
- Not getting MMB mouse release events (used for pan). need to look into why.
* Enable cache for high res + new preview
* Bugfix for smoke banding (in cooperation with N_T)
Hint: Work-in-progress regarding collision objects so can be broken, didn't test
Hint2: jahka enabled a general particle panel but
* bake button doesn't work
* step is not supported for cloth
* several other things there ;)
* cache for low res (deactivating high res for now)
* new way of view3d rendering of smoke (no longer 3 axes) -using 3dtexture now (introduced into gpu/intern)
* introducing LZO and LZMA libs into extern (makefiles missing for now)
* reducing memory usage after simulating for the frame ended (freeing temporary buffers)
* splitting smoke into 2 modifier for the cache-sake (it cannot handle more than 1 cache on the same modifier-index)
* no color on gui anymore
* fixing non-power-of-2 resolutions (hopefully)
* fixing select-deselect of domain drawing bug
* fixing drawobject.c coding style (making Ton happy) ;-)
HINT #1: If scons doesn't work -> cmakefiles are up-to-date, couldn't test scons (but i tried to mantain them, too)
CODERS HINT #1: we really need a way to disable adding all modifiers through "Add Modifiers" dropdown!
WARNING #1: before applying this commit, deactivate your SMOKE DOMAIN in your old files and save them then. You can open them then savely after that.
WARNING #2: File and cache format of smoke can be changed, this is not final!
Patch [#19031] (2.5) python menus for the view3d header
by Lorenzo Pierfederici (lento). Thanks!
* Added CTX_data_mode_string() to find out in which mode we're in.
* Added some "select" menus as a test.
This patch makes it basically possible to wrap the 3D View menus to python.
