6624090a23 Make extension mode (shiftkey) mandatory for socket selection. Otherwise the user can end up with unexpectedly selected nodes, since socket selection allows selecting inputs and outputs from different nodes, which in turn also mean the parent nodes are selected. This fits the workflow better, you already needed to press shiftkey before to use the auto-connect operator. It will also solve some problems with the upcoming reroute nodes, where the node is basically a single socket. 2012-03-14 17:52:50 +00:00

455d1be696 Node socket selection feature reimplemented from 2.49. Sockets can be selected as a sub-selection of nodes and are then preferred by the auto-connect operator. This makes it easier to create precise links over long distances as an alternative to the click & hold operator.
Socket selection is indicated by a simple white highlight circle.

Multiple inputs can be selected by holding SHIFTKEY (just like regular node select). Only one output socket can be selected at a time for each node, but several outputs in different nodes are allowed.

The auto-connect operator will prefer selected sockets on nodes for creating links. If either the output or input side have no selected sockets it will fall back to the previous behavior of chosing 'best' sockets first (colors, then vectors, then values). This could be improved in the future, but is out of scope here.

a885d8aee6 Fix for toggle buttons in node headers.
The buttons for "hiding" (collapsing) a node, hiding unlinked sockets, additional options, the preview and for opening a node group were all using a custom mouse test function, which was broken. They now use actual buttons instead of just displaying icons. Before executing the respective operators the button's node has to be selected and activated, so the buttons use an intermediate handle function, which selects the node and then calls the operator.

Added "Extend" flag to border select operators for editors:
- UV Editor
- Sequencer
- NLA
- Info Space
- Graph Editor
- File Browser
- Clip Editor
- Action Editor
- Channels and markers regions

Can be used for custom keymaps.

8e0fe8bff7 Merged the particles-2010 branch with node improvements into trunk.
This branch adds mostly organizational improvements to the node system by renaming the node folders and files. A couple of internal features have been added too.

a43309e8d4 Added cancel callbacks to modal operators which allocates memory
in invoke callback. This prevents unfreed memory blocks when quiting
Bledner with modal operator running.

5f5cdf9d00 for bug [#27358] Transform bug when transform > 500
mouse coords would with cont. grab would wrap at short.
use mouse coords as int rather then short.

this problem still happens on linux because of XTranslateCoordinates

1c7a422f78 Big node groups improvement patch. Node group trees now have their own lists of input/output sockets. Those can be linked to internal nodes just like links between regular nodes. In addition group sockets can be renamed and have a defined order, which can be modified, and they can be removed again.

76940e6f5c - Bugfix: NLA "duplicate" operator now lets strips get moved between
tracks too, instead of only sliding around on the track they were
defined on.
- Adding description fields for many (older) operators that lacked

8f21a43535 split BKE_utildefines.h, now it only has blender specific defines like GS() MAKE_ID, FILE_MAXDIR, moved the generic defines to BLI_utildefines.h.
no functional changes.

9676902006 Todo items:
- New Node editor now opens with larger view, the default
  was like zoomed in factor 2.
- Add node via menu now shows new node more visible
- Click on (material) node now doesn't re-render the entire
  tree anymore, much nicer.
- Duplicate node creates preview image immediate

3c3502fda4 Small change to Node Space and two new function.
"Select all of the same type" now is binding to Shift + GKEY

Two new function, select next and prev node of the same type.

Select a node and press Shift + [ or Shift + ] go to the
previous and next node of the same type (of the active node).

9a4ba57ee9 Node Space: Small feature for Venomgfx, Shift + F select node of the same type
This is a small request from Venomgfx, select a node
and then press Shift + F to select all the nodes of the
same type (of the active node).

The key binding can be change, we thing in a "Find Next" (that is
way the FKEY) with venomgfx, but no problem with change that.

Also I add the entry in the select menu.

812e5140b0 Fix #20549: selecting a texture node in a material node tree would
keep that texture locked as the current visible texture in the
texture buttons.

4ba5b70d2f Node editor tweaks
* Cleaned up dead code, removed all traces of socket selection

* Modified border select so it's possible to have border select on mouse tweak.
With this change, by default, click+dragging on a node will select and move it, 
but click+dragging on empty space will border select.

03cfcc6007 Node Editor - More Cleanups (Reshuffling):
- removing duplicate chunks of code -> hide unused sockets now works
- moving some functions to the files that they get called from -> view all/home
- made duplicate a macro operator like the other places that work like this, eliminating the unnecessary transform-related property there still
- removed a few chunks of unused code

e6d382bd53 Node Editor: Various usability and code tidyups
* Fixed a nasty bug which meant that it was impossible to set an active node. Was caused by ntreeCopyTree() getting called when compo updates were done and clearing the active flags. The active flag clearing is only really needed for the "internal_select" case which is only used for duplicating selected nodes (from Shift-D duplicate).

* Recoded click-selection code. Was a mess of old code, bad exceptions from the old code half ported, duplicate operators, unnecessary flags/modes.

* Fixed bug #19927: compositing node groups can't be access via "tab" or ungrouped via "alt+g". Was probably related to the active group not being able to be set.

* Made resizing nodes work again. Again, this was due to the active node bug.

* Made adding a new group with Ctrl-G correctly update the views

8d54982f37 Material buttons now view the active node material shading settings.
Selecting a material in the node tree sets this as the active material and the buttons view redraws.

Added rna prop material.active_node_material

Currently its not clear what settings are used by the node material and the base material (needs some tedious research) so I made most panels use the node material with the exceptions of volumetrics, physics and halo settings.

We'll probably need to split the panels up to do this properly.

f16d2b7eaa fix for middle mouse up events not working with modal keymaps (used for fly mode).
With mouse events event->val started as 0/1 for press/release but later the tweak function made LMB and RMB zero value into KM_RELEASE, somehow MMB didnt get used by the tweak function so was left at 0 and the modal keymap function failed when comparing MMB Mouse ups.

now initialize event->val as KM_PRESS/KM_RELEASE

103e11359d - rna/python api object.create_render_mesh(...) support for getting a mesh from metaballs and curves (bevel, surface, text etc).
- povray converts curves to meshes on export, (metaballs don't need meshing).
- use 'extend' bool rather then 'seltype' enum for object_select operators for consistency.

* Added icon to property and enum property items. The latter is
  responsible for the large number of files changed.
* For RNA functions, added PROP_RNAPTR flag to ask for a PointerRNA
  as argument instead of a C pointer, instead of doing it implicitly
  with the AnyType type.

* Material: properly wrap diffuse/specular param variables, and
  rename some things for consistency.
* MaterialTextureSlot: added "enabled" property (ma->septex).
* Image: make animated property editable.
* Image Editor: make some things editable, notifiers, respect state.
* Context: fix issue with screen not being set as ID.

- use select as a suffix eg UV_OT_loop_select -> UV_OT_select_loop
- Each select all operator was using slightly different wording...
  select_all, deselect_all, de_select_all, select_de_select_all -> select_all_toggle

- selection -> select
- POSE_OT_select_connected -> POSE_OT_select_linked to match other operators
- NODE_OT_delete_selection -> NODE_OT_delete since its not used in other operators
- ANIM_OT_previewrange_define -> ANIM_OT_previewrange_set to match other operators
- NODE_OT_fit_all -> NODE_OT_view_all to match other operators
- View2D_OT_* -> VIEW2D_OT_* to match VIEW3D
- View2D_OT_view_downscroll -> VIEW2D_OT_scroll_down more logical
- removed MARKER_OT_mouseselect_extend and made extend a boolean property of MARKER_OT_mouseselect
- MARKER_OT_mouseselect -> MARKER_OT_select

renamed selection operator properties
 extend_select -> extend
 column_select -> column
 select_children_only -> children_only
 ... Since these are all in the context of selection operators there is no need for the extra 'select' in the property name.

Big commit, but mainly adminstration.

- Enabled ot->flag OPTYPE_UNDO to work.
- Removed all redundant ED_undo_pushes, but I'd
  recommend everyone to check it while testing. :)
- Added view manipulations as OPTYPE_REGISTER,
  although this will flood the redo stack a bit...
  Nevertheless; for a "redo last action" panel we
  can simply check if both flags are set for redo.

- Bugfix in editmode undo: selectmode was cleared,
  so you couldn't select after undo
- Bugfix in mixing tweaks and keymaps... solution
  works but is weak, need to think over a while.
