5580b56876 Bugfix [#34836] Crash when driver variable has path == 'data'
Most of the places which relied on RNA_path_resolve() did so believing that if
it returned true, that it had found a valid property, and that the returned
pointer+property combination would be what the path referred to. However, it
turns out that if the property at the end of the path turns out to be a
"pointer" property (e.g. "data" for Object.data), this would automatically
become the pointer part, while the prop part would be set to null. Hence, if a
user accidentally (or otherwise) specifies a path for the single-property driver
variable type like this, then Blender would crash.

This commit introduces two convenience functions - RNA_path_resolve_property()
and RNA_path_resolve_property_full() - which mirror/wrap the existing
RNA_path_resolve() functions. The only difference though is that these include a
check to ensure that what was found from resolving the path was in fact a
property (they only return true iff this is the case), and make it explicitly
clear in the name that this is what they will do so that there's no further
confusion. It is possible to do without these wrapper functions by doing these
checks inline, but the few cases that had been patched already were pretty
hideous looking specimens. Using these just make it clearer and simpler for all.

I've also beefed up the docs on these a bit, and changed these to using bools.

a368334f74 LocDiff Driver Vars: Red-Alert is not needed on the space-selectors 2013-02-28 11:00:06 +00:00
ac6c218cf4 Invalid Driver Targets are now indicated appropriately (using Red Backgrounds)
in the UI

This is the second part of the fixes for [#32492], making it easier to identify
which part of a driver (i.e. which of its targets) is causing problems

A number of additional/related changes needed to be made:
* Red-alert status for layouts is now propagated down to child layouts when they
are created. This is needed as otherwise some of the templates used in the Graph
Editor driver settings won't actually get the red-alert status flushed down to
them. Also, note that this status needs to be set before any widgets are added
to the layout, or else the settings aren't applied when the relevant widgets get
created.

* "Single Property" RNA-Paths resulting in out of bounds array access will now
trigger an error status and appropriate warnings

TODO:
* The error tagging doesn't get applied immediately after variables are created,
or their types changed
* There was also some other weirdness involved when a higher-value flag (1<<10)
was used for this setting, which needs further attention

20220d47e3 Dependency Graph: some refactoring which should have no user visible impact
besides performance in some cases.

* DAG_scene_sort is now removed and replaced by DAG_relations_tag_update in
most cases. This will clear the dependency graph, and only rebuild it right
before it's needed again when the scene is re-evaluated.

This is done because DAG_scene_sort is slow when called many times from
python operators. Further the scene argument is not needed because most
operations can potentially affect more than the current scene.

* DAG_scene_relations_update will now rebuild the dependency graph if it's not
there yet, and DAG_scene_relations_rebuild will force a rebuild for the rare
  cases that need it.

* Remove various places where ob->recalc was set manually. This should go
through DAG_id_tag_update() in nearly all cases instead since this is now
a fast operation. Also removed DAG_ids_flush_update that goes along with
  such manual tagging of ob->recalc.

fa28e50ac2 Region scrollbar fix!
Now scrollbars correctly hide and show, making space for the actual contents
in a region. It solves several old hacks, and puts view2d code a bit more
back in control as well.

Implementation notes:

- The view2d mask feature is working again
- The #define V2D_SCROLL_HORIZONTAL_HIDE means: "turn on hiding".
- Code for UI_view2d_region_reinit() is enforcing better standard view settings

But... two hack/patches needed to be added:

- Region panel drawing: if after generating the button panels it appears
a scroller hides or reveils, it calls all the generating code again.
(a simple scale doesn't work due to rounding differences in layout code)

- View2d code that maps 'tot' and 'cur' rects: if this code detects that
the mask changes, it calcs the map code again.

Also a bugfix (issue in 2.65)

- The left/bottom area split widget was drawing 1 pixel too large sometimes,
leaving bad trails on moving area dividers.

12b642062c Holiday coding log :)
Nice formatted version (pictures soon):
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Ref/Release_Notes/2.66/Usability

Short list of main changes:

- Transparent region option (over main region), added code to blend in/out such panels.
- Min size window now 640 x 480
- Fixed DPI for ui - lots of cleanup and changes everywhere. Icon image need correct size still, layer-in-use icon needs remake.
- Macbook retina support, use command line --no-native-pixels to disable it
- Timeline Marker label was drawing wrong
- Trackpad and magic mouse: supports zoom (hold ctrl)
- Fix for splash position: removed ghost function and made window size update after creation immediate
- Fast undo buffer save now adds UI as well. Could be checked for regular file save even...
Quit.blend and temp file saving use this now.
- Dixed filename in window on reading quit.blend or temp saves, and they now add a warning in window title: "(Recovered)"
- New Userpref option "Keep Session" - this always saves quit.blend, and loads on start.
This allows keeping UI and data without actual saves, until you actually save.
When you load startup.blend and quit, it recognises the quit.blend as a startup (no file name in header)
- Added 3D view copy/paste buffers (selected objects). Shortcuts ctrl-c, ctrl-v (OSX, cmd-c, cmd-v).
Coded partial file saving for it. Could be used for other purposes. Todo: use OS clipboards.
- User preferences (themes, keymaps, user settings) now can be saved as a separate file.
Old option is called "Save Startup File" the new one "Save User Settings".
To visualise this difference, the 'save startup file' button has been removed from user preferences window. That option is available as CTRL+U and in File menu still.
- OSX: fixed bug that stopped giving mouse events outside window.
This also fixes "Continuous Grab" for OSX. (error since 2009)

9b91da0d0d Axis Colours are now Themeable
This commit allows you to set the RGB <-> XYZ axis colours used for things like
the mini axis indicator, grid axis indicators, manipulators, transform
constraint indicators, F-Curves (when using XYZ to RGB colouring option), and
perhaps something else I've missed. Previously, these places all used hardcoded
defines (220 * i/j/k), but the readability of these colours was often quite
poor, especially when used with certain themes.

The settings for these colours can be found under the "User Interface" section
of the themes (i.e. same set of colours is used across editors). I could have
made these per editor, but since it's unlikely that these will need to be too
different across editors in practice (+ being easier to version patch), they are
stored under the UI section.

c483a54207 Making "Jump to Keyframes" operator (for Action/Graph Editors) more obvious
This operator used to be called "Jump to Frame". It basically takes the midpoint
(frame number and/or value) of selected keyframes, and positions the current
frame (or2d-cursor in Graph Editor) at this point.

The hotkey for this is now Ctrl-G (i.e. as it's similar to a "Goto Frame"
feature). It is also now in the Key menu instead of in the relatively obscure
View menu, even though it doesn't actually result in any keyframe edits taking
place.

(Also, fixed a typo/grammer issue with one of Remove Bone Group operator)

565e7c8e3c Display enum descriptions in tooltips for operators using a "type" or "mode"
property

Changes:
This commit adds a second line to the tooltips (below the generic operator
description) showing the appropriate description for each enum option. This
brings it more into line enum properties in Blender which also show this sort of
information.

Rationale:
Operators such as Snap and Mirror in the Action and Graph Editors use an enum to
control their behaviour (respectively, "how to snap" or "what to use as the
mirror line"). In the menus, these options are displayed using a submenu, but
hovering over each of these items for more information from a tooltip only shows
the (relatively unhelpful) generic operator tooltip/description.

Another area where these descriptions are useful is for Keying Sets, where it's
now possible to see the descriptions for what each Keying Set
does/affects/requires. Again, this is more helpful than just the generic
tooltip, which would be something like "Insert keyframes using a Keying Set".

654f6c4c4f Bugfix [#32331] Graph editor zoom to selected includes coordinate origin if more
than one curve is displayed

The range calculation used to use a fixed 0-1 range whenever it couldn't find
any values for a particular F-Curve. However, this was then taken by the
aggregation calculation to be used as just another value, leading to problems if
only vertices of a very high-value curve are selected to be included.

Modified the range calculation to ensure that suitable vertices were found
before trying to take the range values returned.

44ca0a4328 Fix for the "black F-Curves" bug on undo
(From personal stash of bugs - since early 2.5 versions)

F-Curve colors get applied only on Graph Editor "refresh()". In some cases, undo
was reverting back to a state where the colors had not yet been set. In these
cases, there would be no refresh() after that undo (until expanding a channel or
some other similar action), resulting in "black F-Curves" appearing. So, now we
force such an update after undo to ensure that the curves never display black.

(Noticed while investigating another bug for Mango related to
CLIP_OT_constraint_to_fcurve not sending notifiers required when new F-Curves
are added)
