Hi this is the task for the Advanced objects addon.
This addon is made up of a selection of useful addons that are mostly creative tools.
The list is from addons contrib & addons donated with permissions.

Current Menu List:
Test Scenes:
Adds fast test scenes Cycles, BI & Camera to plane
Lighting Sets:
Add Light Template
Add Tri Lighting
Array mods:
Chains
Circle Array
Dupli Spin
Copy to V/E/F
Quick Tools:
Drop to Ground
Pixelate object
Struts
Random Boxes
Wrecking Ball

Create Tab Panels:
Unfold Transition
Cubester

I think might be easier to add this to contrib first so we can merge in your fixes & I can remove the contrib addons it absorbed.
Also this addon is becoming quite large... but very useful for quick tools & art creation.

Clean up,
remove dupli spin,
fix rope & wrecking ball to create own new scene,
context sensitivity preventing errors when wrong types selected,
remove mangle mesh from add menu,
remove Add Chain panel.
remove curve type from mangle tools
fix *maybe own error copy2 not listing all object types
clean up tooltips
