Sculpt Mode: Improve Expand performance #102586
With D16434: Sculpt Mode: Invert Expand behavior for masking consistency it will be a stronger focus to highlight the Expand operators as a core feature in sculpt mode to create masks & face sets.
The issue is that the operator tends to be too slow to initialize on high res meshes.
This is especially the case for the geodesic expanding method.
We need to address these performance issues.
One usggestion was to incrementally calculate the distances while the operator is running.
