Short description of error
When using the Undo in sculpt mode, the brush that was previously selected changes back to a default brush
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
I wasn't able to reproduce this issue. Does this happen when you click on File > Defaults > Load Factory Settings?
Just checked and it doesn't
@iss Not sure how to change the status to "needs information from developers"
you wouldnt want to do this at this point, we are not done triaging this yet...
Looks like a duplicate of #69760 or #71759, but I can't replicate the problem. Are you sure the steps are correct?
Yeah, it happens also in hair sculpt (that's where i noticed it)
Even with hair sculpt, I cannot reproduce this with either the latest stable or current development versions of Blender.
Please try the latest daily build: https://builder.blender.org/download/
Go to File → Defaults → Load Factory Settings and then load your file to see if you still can reproduce this issue.
If the problem persists, please give us more clear instructions on how to reproduce it from scratch.
Idk I just downlaoded the newest build (2.6) and the bug persists.
Here is my file maybe it can be of help
@costa It doesn't happen, or factory preferences doesn't help?
Please click on Help > Save System Info and upload saved file.
The bug doesn't exist when I have factory preferences
Thanks for update, I think this could be due to some addon. Please check if enabling addons with factory preferences does introduce this issue. If it does, please identify which addon is problematic.
I have checked behavior with Preferences > Experimental > Undo Legacy and it not changing brush on undo, but please check if this option is disabled.
Ok so I tried troubleshooting, I found out that filtering addons doesn't help and undo legacy doesn't help.
HOWEVER I'm using another main window instead of "window" and I noticed if I close the second one the bug doesn't persist. So I guess it has something to do with me having a second main window
Could you provide a video showing the issue being reproduced from scratch?
Informations like "hair sculpt" and "New Main Window" are not making much difference here.
No activity for more than a week.
Unfortunately, if we can't replicate the problem, this can't be triaged as a complete bug report.
Thanks for the report. If the problem persists please open a new report with the required information.
