Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.4.1, branch: blender-v3.4-release, commit date: 2022-12-19 17:00, hash:
rB55485cb379f7
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)
Short description of error
when I apply a boolean mod too my head model then i try and move some vertices in the place were the cutt is located blender will crash, everytime ive tried 4 times and all times its the same thing.
i put the mod then i select the neck and make it the cutter object then i go to object properties and make it wire frame then i press eye icon next too (neck) too make it invisible. then i go too were the cut is located and i try and move a vertices and blender crashes. that's the best way i can explain this annoying issue.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Hi, thanks for the report. I can confirm the crash in your file.
Though crash doesn't happen when:
tonge
object is deletedOn cage
option of subdivision modifier from head object is turned off.Simplified file:
i downloaded blender 2.93.9 and it has no crashes i can do what im tryng to do in blender 3.4, i took video of both if you need it. honestly this isnt the first bugg ive encountered in this version of blender. you mention in the comment you coudlnt recreate it so is this just hapening too me?
@alejandro-melgoza , I can reproduce the crash.
Later I've mentioned the 3 conditions which avoids the crash.
I'm bisecting now because this is a regression (3.3-no crash, 3.4-crash)
i see, sorry i didnt realise the terms you used are the correct codes or way of mentineing this things, ok im understaning now. should i use the older version for now?
i should probably let you know im new to blender and this is my first bug report, i dont undertand all the terms you use im compltely clueless.
Crash started to happen after:
f1c0249f34
@HooglyBoogly ^
@alejandro-melgoza , you can use 3.3LTS for now: https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/
I was finding the commit which has introduced the crash in your file.
ahhh okk, thank you.
Boolean mod crashing blender maybe I do not know.to Regression: Crash in edit mode with boolean and subdivision modifier
