Short description of error
Wrong objects statistics information in object mode when GPU Subdivision is enabled
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Rat.blend
fileI confirm the problem with statistic
Ubuntu 20.04, Geforce MX230, Blender 3.6 Beta
Statistics randomly are going crazy. I also want to note one interesting thing: the figures relative to their size do not differ much between what I had and what is indicated in the report
I can't reproduce it.
@mod_moder, now I know how I'm getting it 100%. I have included an attachment showing this below.
EDIT:
I was checking it few times already and moving bones in rig occurs this bug 100% times. Also sometimes editing meshes too.
@Szymon-42 Do you mean that I need to make an animatronic model, attach a skeleton, hope the data matches yours, and then expect crash? Please simplify the replay steps!
There you have .blend file. That should simplify replay steps.
EDIT:
If I will trun on render mode this bug will nout occur while moving armature bones.
Still can't reproduce, in currently available stable 3.4 on the site and debug build 3.6
Hi, thanks for the report. I'm able to replicate the issue.
Can you check whether this happens when GPU subdivision is disabled?:
Edit > Preferences > Viewport > Subdivision > GPU Subdivision
I'll be able to check it out on Friday.
I posted a similar issue (#98339, delayed stat update with GPU subdivision) some time ago, also mentioned this exact issue of unlikely numbers there. I couldn't find reliable ways to reproduce the unlikely numbers issue at that time, but now I can with the Rat file uploaded by @Szymon-42. (Also can confirm that the issue does not occur when GPU subdivision is disabled.)
Interestingly a recent discovery about the delayed update issue (it doesn't occur if stats at the status bar isn't active) does not apply here.
Maybe two issues ('delayed update' and 'unlikely numbers') are different (although most likely related) issues.
I got time to check it and I also can confirm that this issue doesn't occur with GPU subdivision disabled. I think this thread can be closed. Thank you all for help.
Hi, this is just a workaround. Bug is still valid.
