System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.22621-SP0

Blender Version
Broken: 4.0.0 Alpha, 9f8d062de4, main, 2023-09-04

Short description of error
Setting the Input/Output type of a node socket to "Both" makes the lowest socket in the same panel appear outside the panel.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Open the Geometry Nodes Editor or Shader Editor
  2. Create a new node group
  3. In the N-Panel: Group -> Interface, create a panel and add multiple sockets to it
  4. Select one of the first sockets and set Input/Output to "Both"
  5. Exit the node group. The lowest socket in the panel will now appear outside the panel.

I can confirm that when setting the Input/Output type of a node socket to "Both", the lowest socket in the panel is ejected outside of the panel.

Well, Both option is new, so not sure if this is regression.
