System Information
Operating system:Windows 10
Graphics card:RTX 3070

Blender Version
Blender 3.6

Short description of error
I have been using blender for a while, and I have rendered some projects as well. I was using blender and I wanted to render an image and it says Cannot read 'C:\Users----\Downloads': Permission denied. I cant save the file to anywhere on my computer.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

Im not sure how to reproduce the error... It happened randomly.

Thank you for submitting the bug report @Rigved-Iyer.

But based on your description, the error you are experiencing does not seem to be a bug with Blender, but rather a file system permission issue on your Windows 10 system. The error message "Cannot read 'C:\Users---\Downloads': Permission denied" indicates that Blender does not have the necessary permissions to save files in the specified location.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Run Blender as Administrator: Right-click on the Blender shortcut and select "Run as administrator" to see if the permission issue is resolved.
  2. Check Folder Permissions: Ensure the folder you're trying to save to (Downloads) has proper permissions set. Right-click on the folder, select "Properties", and then go to the "Security" tab to review permissions.
  3. Save to a Different Location: Try saving your rendered image to a different folder, such as your Documents or a new folder you create.
  4. Check for Windows User Account Restrictions: If you are using a non-administrative account, there may be restrictions in place. Try using an account with administrative privileges.
  5. Antivirus and Security Software: Sometimes antivirus or other security software can block applications from writing files. Check if any software is interfering.

Hi, I originally thought it was a bug because until now it was working great. All of a sudden it stopped letting me render any files.

Hi, I originally thought it was a bug because until now it was working great. All of a sudden it stopped letting me render any files.

No activity for more than a week.

Not a bug in Blender as far I can see.

If the problem persists after following the suggestions, please open a new report with the required information.
