Short description of error
If you open attached blend file, addon and Get Extenssions tabs inside preferences are just totally empty:

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Open attached startup.blend file in 4.2/4.3
  • Go to Edit > Preferences > Add-ons/extensions tab

I might be wrong, this seems related to your 4.1 startup file. If I open startup.blend file manually, the add-on tab is invisible

By the way, my startup file is pretty old: it migrates from older versions one by one and was slightly modified each time. So perhaps it may accumulate errors or something like this.

And yes, you are right. Even after proper and clean Blender 4.2 install i opened my old startup file and it broke addon-tab.
And the most upsetting issue that all old files (based on this startup) break addon tab in 4.2

Yes, startup file was last saved in 3.3LTS. I already checked in one of my 3.3 file, add-on tab is visible there.

Yep, suddenly found it myself.
The issue is addon filter can filter system addon «Blender extensions». Idk if this behaviour is legit and it should do so.
