Blender 4.2 rigify (limbs.spline_tentacle) doesn't generate correctly

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
1.edit mode add rigify sample (limbs.spline_tentacle)
2.set UI
3.click(Generate Rig)

Hi, thanks for the report. Do you use cloudrig extension along with rigify?
Could you share the file with armature object prior of "generate rig" operation?

Just making sure, the steps to reproduce are:

  1. Download untitled.blend from the previous comment.
  2. Open it in Blender 4.2 with the Rigify addon enabled.
  3. Select Properties Editor -> Rigify -> Generate Rig
  4. A error message will be output at the bottom of Blender, and the rig will generate weirdly, looking like the image in the original report.

Error message: Generation has thrown an exception: name 'rig_id' is not defined

If so, I can reproduce in Blender 4.3 and 4.2 on both Windows and Mac. And it's a non-issue in Blender 4.1.1

This isn't much to go on. Since things work fine in Blender 4.1, could you post a screenshot of that too? Then it's clear what is the expected/correct result.

This was caused by 78b9218c98, and fortunately it's a really minor thing that's easy enough to fix.
