Blender Version
Broken: version: 4.2.0, branch: blender-v4.2-release, commit date: 2024-07-16 06:20, hash: a51f293548ad
Worked: 4.1.X (previous mainline release)

Note I get Blender from the Microsoft Store

Short description of error
The latest update Blender 4.2, I imported my older preferences as usual, but under Preferences the Add-Ons and new Extensions tabs are completely blank.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Just bring it up ...

I tried running without addons with the --factory-startup but given that it's a store application I wasn't able to run the application at all from the command line.

I did do a search to see if this has been reported as it seems like it would have to have been. Otherwise not sure what helpful information I can provide

Do you have the filter add-on setting turned on in the 3D viewport (see attached screenshot)?
If so, does turning it off fix the issue?

If that is the cause and the fix, then this is a duplicate of #122754
