Short description of error
Rendering a VFX scene with a simple blur crashes nouveau driver.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Also happens with daily build

.Issues with Blender + nouveau driver can be quite common as very few users use the nouveau drivers with Blender, and I believe development efforts for the nouveau driver haven't been particularly good over the last few GPU generations.
It is recommended that you install the official NVIDIA GPU drivers for the best experience with Blender.
Hi, as far as I know, Nouveau drivers are not supported and have problems with wayland (see: #110327)
Best to check with official drivers.
The last bug I reported to the Blender and Nouveau/NVK developers was fixed in two days. I believe if we (me, Faith Ekstrand, you guys) work together, this can be fixed quite quickly.
I'm running Blender with Nouveau drivers and Wayland for months now without severe problems (except above bug which was fixed very quickly).
I think this has changed quite a bit since the open kernel modules and the NVK efforts of the Nouveau developers.
I will continue to run the Blender/Wayland/Nouveau combination. I hope to switch to Blender/Vulkan/NVK in the near future and will continue to help out reporting bugs.
Maybe the nouveau developers will have a look.
Did you submit the report to nouveau developers?
Sure: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/11785
I'll close this for now since official drivers are recommended, see: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/troubleshooting/gpu/linux/nvidia.html#drivers
Closing for now.
