Please run blender from terminal with --debug-gpu option, and report here the result (error messages in that terminal).

@KS1 Win+R > Type "cmd" in the prompt > Execute > A terminal will open > drag and drop blender executable (not the shortcut) in the terminal (this should copy the path to the executable > Press Enter to run blender.

Thanks. Here is the report -

  1. When I run without --debug-gpu
the blender window opens for few seconds and then closes automatically.
    error-01.jpg

  2. When I run with --debug-gpu
Blender window opens and I saw 2.8 for fist time!! but cannot use it. The text message is displayed / running continuously in the terminal window. It is because of print screen, the terminal window looks still. I hope you get what i am trying to say.
At some point it becomes still, but when I do anything in the blender window like select the default cube, blender does not respond and the terminal window has continuous text running.

@fclem I think that 'working with --debug-gpu, crashing without it is already known issue?

Hi, I have a similar problem too
I have no problem in opening blender 2.79, instead blender 2.8 crashes on opening when I use the GPU "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070"
It depends on the GPU because if I use the GPU "Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630" if opens correctly and works just fine.
I attach the error message I got in the prompt

In this case I solved the problem by attaching the monitor to a different monitor slot ( probably the Nvidia GPU one, while before it was attached to the other GPU I assume) and now it opens and work just fine.
Hope this may help.

Usually due to video driver problems. First thing is make sure your video driver is up to date from the card manufacturer.

If that doesn't help, check the minimum requirements for running blender, to make sure your system meets them.

Hi,

I had this problem and tried every piece of advice without any solution to Blender, all versions not opening.
Basically all my versions of Blender closed before opening but it all started with Blender 2.81, right after no Blender would open.

Totally frustrated I ran Blender Experimental, it did not work.

I tried a fresh install of win10 on a new disk and Blender worked, not problem, but not on my system that is all set up.

I reinstalled Blender 2.81a, tried it not working, I changed the primary screen in win10, now it works!!!
Change back so that my center screen is the main and it does not work ( I use 4 monitors ).

I hope this helps someone that has been really frustrated for the last two weeks!

George

My issue seems similar to georges problem. Ive never had issues with any blender version up through 2.8 64 bit. I downloaded 2.81a on Dec 5 and it opened for a few moments and then crashed. Since then i have been unable to get any version started up again with the exception of the 32 bit version of 2.8 (which i dont understand). I have tried absolutely every suggested fix on the internet.

I have a pretty beefy rig that i built for the purpose of modeling and gaming. gtx 1070, i7 7700k, etc... All drivers have been updated to no avail. Tried the opengl32 fix. when i copy to the folder i get an error saying i need a driver that supports opengl 3.3 but the most updated drivers i have support opengl 4.6, so i dont think that is the issue.

Originally the command window that opens before blender said something about the userpref.blend in %appdata% and the internet said to delete that blender foundation folder and reinstall everything. Now that userpref.blend message is gone but the program still doesn't open.

Ive tried opening in cmd prompt with --debug and blender still crashes without throwing any error messages. "when i say crashes i mean window goes gray and i get the little (not responding) message".

Final thing i have noted, if i restart my computer and immediately open blender "i.e. within 30 seconds. any longer and it wont open at all." blender 2.81a opens perfectly and quickly. but it seems to crash as soon as i either click away from blender, or open another window in blender like the preferences menu. Still no error messages.

Please someone help me. I love blender and used it daily. im running myself ragged trying to find the solution.

Hey Donnie - I resolved my problem with Blender 2.81 and all other Blender installations from crashing at the start, by changing my main screen in win10 from a big 47" 4k TV, to one of the 1080 monitors and Blender 2.81 would open normally.
I later found someone that solved the problem of Blender crashing at the start by switching his HDMI cables. I did this and changed back my main monitor to be the center screen and Blender works great!
Now my big screen is plugged directly on the Video card before it was connected to the video port that comes with the motherboard.
I hope this helps,
George

WOW thanks for the quick reply! unfortunately that didnt work. Ive got three monitors, a 4k, an ultrawide, and an older 1080p monitor. I tried switching the primary screens, alternating the cables, two different hdmis, a vga, and a display port cable. tried using only one monitor. and using the mother board instead of the graphics card.

I do appreciate the help, im still searching for and answer. I think im going to create a new bug report. hopefully i can get an answer or at least a suggested option i havent tried yet

@veronicadmello, please make sure you have installed the latest graphics driver for the NVIDIA Quadro P600 from the NVIDIA website.
https://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/index.aspx

If that doesn't help, please create a new bug report.

For anyone commenting here, it's better to create a new report with full info rather than replying in a task that has been closed.

That way the problem can be triaged properly, and full logs and system info can be provided so the actual problem can be identified.

Regarding Windows 32 bit, the last version to support it was Blender 2.80, and that version is no longer receiving improvements or bugfixes.
