System Information
Operating system: windows 7 pro - 32bit
Graphics card: ATI Radeon 4350 1.7 GB HD - ( openGL 3.3 )

Blender VersionBroken: blender-2.80-2dee1772e1e-win32 releaseShort description of error
the New version as i mention in the title wont open at all
when i double click on blender.exe only open CMD window that stay half second and close automatically !!!
i did this many times and same issue

Notice: i have blender 2.79 working perfect with no error ,
but i like the new interface and the new tools management in it , i left blender for about a year just because the non friendly use interface in early versions ,
and because i use to work a lot on cinema 4D, blender 2.79 and early was super annoying for me and make me want to crash my keyboard sometimes "cause anything i want to do in the old version even selecting objects needed searching google for it which is silly to not able to use select the things freely like u can in windows environment for example"

but the new version is awesome and easy to use i saw it on a Youtube video and i directly run to download it but ........... its not working .. thats build a wall in my face ! welpppp
i know its a beta version but i cant wait i couldn't sleep just to try it x)

Update :

  • this is after using the command :
--debug-gpu

right after blender source in cmd : blender using the command --debug-gpu.png

the program open late with lags and some freezing after using this command
all panels text jiggle every time i move the mouse on the top of any panel
and any object you create jiggle alone every time you move the mouse in empty space
or when you zoom in or zoom out
and the few panels appear Half of the functions inside them does Not work
or when you click on some of them blender crash and close directly .

I'm guessing this is just the case of the drivers for the card being too old, buggy and unmaintained. These cards (the 4000 series) are 10 years old at this point. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your card, btw!

But @fclem has proven me wrong before, so we'll see if there are workarounds that can be added.

You can also try running blender with --debug-gpu-force-workarounds and see if that helps.

Linux should have a bit better maintained drivers. So if you feel adventurous, would could try that as well. Make sure you pick a recent distro though. (So ubuntu 18.10 instead of 18.04)

If I remember correctly, better drivers for these cards are for windows 10.

Linux could also be an option if that's possible.

But try to use --debug-gpu-force-workarounds before anything else.

Closing since we now only officially support AMD graphics cards with GCN 1st gen and later for Blender 2.80.

More information on that decision is here:
https://code.blender.org/2019/04/supported-gpus-in-blender-2-80/

We keep this bug listed in #61936 (EOL GPU problems tracking report) in case anyone is interested in fixing it.
