Objects set to show in front, when drawn in edit mesh mode, will display artefacts resemlbing z-fighting.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • open the blend
  • notice the artefacts on the plane object to the right

Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

Not sure what is happening. Might be that the workbench ghost resolve pass effects the actual depth slightly (conversion). @fclem do you have any ideas what might be happening here?

Have this issue too, I note that it disappears when activating the option to display modifier in edit mode (like Mirror modifier)

It seems that any object placed other than to (0,0,0) is having this issue. In the attached file just reset plane's position(ALT+G) and problem is gone.

After refactoring the overlay engine, it draws more consistently, but does not draw the edit faces. Seems like a different problem we are currently facing. #72261 (Edges and faces almost invisible when object "In front") is already open for that one. So closing this one
