Transform: Snap to the intersection geometry with the axis constraint #66422

Motivation

When a point is moved to a specific direction and the snap point is performed on an edge or face, currently the
final snap is performed on the point closest to the current position pointed by the mouse cursor on the edge or face.
This is not very useful since the final position is still undefined.

Proposal

The final snap should be made on the intersection of the direction constraint vector with the face or the edge.

I just came across this problem, this snapping method works properly only for 90° angle :P

Sorry to bother you but there is any news on when we can expect to see this in master?
In the parent task (#66337), this is tagged as red, but I can't find it in the 2.81/2.82 workboards.

Projects for Snapping & precision modeling improvements are stalled for now.
Their continuation will depend on decisions for future Blender releases.

I think this is one the key features for fast poligonal modeling but in blender development it stay still for years. Dear developers! Snapping tool could be perfect only with this feature! )
