Object disappears in Sculpt Mode #71992

Short description of error
Object breaks/disappears using Dynotopo in Sculpt mode after a minute or so. I still see the Dynotopo dots and brush snapping to the invisible form but no object. It’s happened more than once and within the first minutes of sculpting.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Sculpt in Dynotopo (Constant Detail/Smooth Shading/12 Resolution) and the object disappears within a minute or two for me. I’m confident I’m not hitting anything by mistake and I can’t find a way to remedy it.

To really progess further here, we would need your full specs.
Help > Save System Info

It might also help checking if this is the same problem as #71147 (2.81 & 2.82 Eevee stops rendering in Rendered and Look Dev modes in viewports (macOS)):

  • does this happen in solid viewport shading as well?
  • if you have a chance to check if this is reproducable on another machine, that could help as well... [preferably non MacOS]

And to make sure we are all on the same page:

  • please provide an example blend file where this happens

Yes, the bug is exactly the same as the one in the link you provided—I apologize for the redundancy.

Solid viewport shading isn’t working, but if I switch over to Cycles, my object appears. Eevee will work again if I save, close the file, and reopen.

I only have access to a Mac at the moment. Here is my system-info.txt file.
