My proposal is to do the 2.82a once we switch to bcon2, so in March 12. I will present that to the next developers meeting.

I would also like to propose to re-enable building of the 2.82 branch on the buildbot and changing its version to "2.82a beta" (or "2.82 stable").

This way we can get some testing before the release and verify all the tests pass as we backport commits.

I'd like to propose to add blender/blender-addons@af687f5a04 to 2.82a
This is a fix for a regression between 2.81 and 2.82 in glTF exporter( that leads to a crash) introduced during a performance improvement (commit blender/blender-addons@569f96c037).

Note that technically, blender/blender-addons@af687f5a04 (that I propose to add to 2.82a) removes a workaround added in blender/blender-addons@659c121a68, and add a proper fix. So maybe both commit will be needed to avoid merging issue.

Side node: The root cause is maybe a depsgraph issue, logged here: #74092
