Broken: version: 2.82 (sub 7), branch: master, commit date: 2020-03-12 05:06, hash:

Worked: Never
Short description of error
In shader editor gamma default is 1 when I do the hover over setting and press backspace to reset the default it goes to 0.0
Same with hue/saturation/value.. and probably more.
The one with hue is pretty annoying as it has specific default settings .
Same deal with groups - I set the defaults, it doesn't default .. goes to 0
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
It defaults to 0 instead of 1 or whatever it's default was in shader editor..

This isn't limited to Windows and it isn't limited to this node (I think all shader nodes have this issue). (Repro'd on a Mac in, e.g., the
World
Diffuse BSDF
shader parameters.)I'm a complete Blender dev newbie, but with a little guidance I'd be happy to try pushing a patch for this!
reseting defaults via backspace hover going to 0 instead of actual defaultsto 'Reset to Default Value' set any property on a node to 0Changed status from 'Needs Triage' to: 'Confirmed'

'Reset to Default Value' set any property on a node to 0to 'Reset to Default Value' sets any property on a node to 0it's probably spread out all over the interface - I was building a node group, and almost each setting has a different default - I changed all the default values - and even in group nodes it just goes to 0, instead of 1, 0.5 etc.. so I'm not sure that even the one for node groups work - or does it reflect the ones from the nodes that are inside the node groups ..
Wouldn't be a big bother, but I keep on reloading the original nodes bcs I keep forgeting what the defaults are..

I'm a bit late to the party but today after the commits to main / Principled (
158dbc1b10
,d7aee5a580
,4c229070a9
) I noticed how useless the backspace defaults are especially for this shader node (and most of the others).Backspace basically sets every float input to 0 and every color to 0,0,0,0. It also sets the SSS to Christensen-Burley and GGX instead of the new default Multiscatter GGX.
3 years in, still same issue, it's not crucial, but would be nice to get it working
