System Information
Operating system: macOS Monterey 12.1
Graphics card: m1 max 10 core cpu and 32 core gpu

Blender Version
Broken: (v3.0 for apple silicon, f1cca30557, master, 2021-12-02, 18:35)
Worked: (v3.0 for intel, f1cca30557, master, 2021-12-02, 18:35)

Hi, Im new to blender on Mac and trying to adjust to this workflow. I noticed that in the 3.0 stable version selecting an object in viewport requires me to click slightly below the object to be selected. This distance keeps on changing for different objects (especially the scale of object). This problem only seems to be there in object mode in 3d viewport and I've tried multiple mice but with no success.(I currently used the mx master 3 from Logitech)

Just start up blender and try selecting the default cube. The pointer needs to be at the center of the cube or below it. It won't get selected if the pointer is just above 3d cursor at world origin. This becomes especially difficult if the light or camera needs to be selected. I tried enabling and disabling OpenGL Depth Picking with no success.

This might be the same as #91680 (Selection in the 3d view is broken in build from Xcode 13) [which is already fixed].

Could you check if this is still an issue for you in a fresh 3.1 Alpha build from https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/?

Yes this issue seems to be solved in 3.1 alpha.

The problem is that 3.1 can't be used reliably for working as it crashes every now and then. Is there gonna be an updated stable 3.0 with this bug resolved fro working. I was planning on using 3.1 just for fast rendering after prepping the setup in 3.0.

We are planning a 3.0.1 [no final decision made yet though], see #93479 (3.0 Potential candidates for corrective releases) -- the fix is on that list.
No need to have a separate report open for this though, will close.
