It is now possible to adjust the brush tip shape to be either square, round or anything in between with a slider called "Tip Roundness".
The problem is that the resulting square shape is sized cropped to fit inside the brush radius.
This way it is impossible to use an image texture for the brush at full size. The image used will always be cropped.
The ideal behaviour would be if the square shape will use the full brush radius so that the brush cursor can fit inside the square shape that is painted.
This will result in a perceived bigger brush radius once a square shape is used but that is fine.
