System Information
Operating system: Linux-5.18.5-100.fc35.x86_64-x86_64-with-glibc2.34 64 Bits = Fedora 35 with wayland windowing system
CPU: Intel® Core™ i3-2350M CPU @ 2.30GHz
Graphics card: Mesa Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 (SNB GT2) Intel 3.3 (Core Profile) Mesa 21.3.8
OpenGL ES GLSL ES 3.00

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.2.0, branch: master, commit date: 2022-06-08 10:22, hash: e05e1e3691
bug also in blender-3.2.1-candidate+v32.c5c384d6eadf-linux.x86_64-release and blender-3.3.0-alpha+master.d2a3b99ff7ab-linux.x86_64-release
worked in 3.1.2 and earlier

Short description of error
start blender with blender default scene, add->grease pencil->stroke blender crashes with following on console
ERROR (gpu.shader): gpencil_geometry VertShader:
1515 gpMaterialFlag gp_flag = floatBitsToInt(gp_mat._flag);

gpencil_vert.glsl:35:3: Error: initializer of type int cannot be assigned to variable of type uint

Works OK if wireframe viewport selected, but changing viewport back then causes same crash

Looks like simple type allocation mistake and/or wrong compiler options?
I know the hardware is pretty ancient, but it's very much a vanilla system and should be supported. Everything else seems to work fine.
cheers Matt

Can't reproduce myself, but this seems straightforward, so I will confirm. I assume floatBitsToUInt should be used instead.

Did a bit more digging. My Sandy Bridge hardware is an 11 year old design and a few generations (!) before Blender's declared minimum. However it still runs, even EVEE! I've found modern laptops are so constrained by cooling that with Cycles renders this old setup is not THAT much slower than what you can get on a budget today.
OpenGL support from the Mesa drivers is a bit vague. Mesa 21.3.9 implements the OpenGL 4.6 API, but the version reported by glGetString(GL_VERSION) or glGetIntegerv(GL_MAJOR_VERSION) / glGetIntegerv(GL_MINOR_VERSION) depends on the particular driver being used (i.e. the chipset).
So I guess I'm going to struggle to get anyone to do anything. It looks like a simple bug and it would be really nice to make it to the next LTS release.
