efd5e3c254 Remove quicktime support
It has been deprecated since at least macOS 10.9 and fully removed in 10.12.

I am unsure if we should remove it only in 2.8. But you cannot build blender with it supported when using a modern xcode version anyway so I would tend towards just removing it also for 2.79 if that ever happens.

9da7dfa158 Refactor ID copying (and to some extent, ID freeing).
This will allow much finer controll over how we copy data-blocks, from
full copy in Main database, to "lighter" ones (out of Main, inside an
already allocated datablock, etc.).

This commit also transfers a llot of what was previously handled by
per-ID-type custom code to generic ID handling code in BKE_library.
Hopefully will avoid in future inconsistencies and missing bits we had
all over the codebase in the past.

It also adds missing copying handling for a few types, most notably
Scene (which where using a fully customized handling previously).

Note that the type of allocation used during copying (regular in Main,
allocated but outside of Main, or not allocated by ID handling code at
all) is stored in ID's, which allows to handle them correctly when
freeing. This needs to be taken care of with caution when doing 'weird'
unusual things with ID copying and/or allocation!

As a final note, while rather noisy, this commit will hopefully not
break too much existing branches, old 'API' has been kept for the main
part, as a wrapper around new code. Cleaning it up will happen later.

4cf7fc3b3a Render API/Cycles: Identify Render Passes by their name instead of a type flag
Previously, every RenderPass would have a bitfield that specified its type. That limits the number of passes to 32, which was reached a while ago.
However, most of the code already supported arbitrary RenderPasses since they were also used to store Multilayer EXR images.
Therefore, this commit completely removes the passflag from RenderPass and changes all code to use the unique pass name for identification.
Since Blender Internal relies on hardcoded passes and to preserve compatibility, 32 pass names are reserved for the old hardcoded passes.

To support these arbitrary passes, the Render Result compositor node now adds dynamic sockets. For compatibility, the old hardcoded sockets are always stored and just hidden when the corresponding pass isn't available.

To use these changes, the Render Engine API now includes a function that allows render engines to add arbitrary passes to the render result. To be able to add options for these passes, addons can now add their own properties to SceneRenderLayers.
To keep the compositor input node updated, render engine plugins have to implement a callback that registers all the passes that will be generated.

From a user perspective, nothing should change with this commit.

98b81493f3 Refactor writefile handling of data-blocks.
Instead of calling a function looping over whole list of a given ID
type, make whole loop over Main in parent function, and call functions
writing a single datablock at a time.

This design is more in line with all other places in Blender where we
handle whole content of Main (including readfile.c), and much more easy
to extend and add e.g. some generic processing of IDs before/after
writing, etc.

From user point, there should be no change at all, only difference is
that data-block types won't be saved in same order as before (.blend
file specs enforces no order here, so this is not an issue, but it could
bug some third party users using other, simplified .blend file reader maybe).

9dd194716b Fix T50736: Zero streaks in Glare node.
Please never, ever use same DNA var for two different things. Even worse
if they do not have same type and ranges!

This is only ensuring issues (as described in report, but also if
animating both RNA props using same DNA var... yuck).

And we were not even saving any byte in DNA, could reuse some padding
there to store the two new needed vars (yes, two, since we cannot re-use
existing one if we want to keep backward *and* forward compatibility).

65ec429d11 GP Interpolate Sequence: Tool settings for controlling the shape of interpolation
This commit introduces the ability to use the Robert Penner easing equations
or a Custom Curve to control the way that the "Interpolate Sequence" operator
interpolates between keyframes. Previously, it was only possible to get linear
interpolation between the gp frames.

Workflow:
1) Place current frame between a pair of GP keyframes
2) Open the "Interpolate" panel in the Toolshelf
3) Choose the interpolation type (under "Sequence Options")
4) Adjust settings (e.g. if you're using "Custom Curve", use the curvemap widget
   to define the way that the interpolation proceeds)
5) Click "Sequence" to interpolate
6) Play back/scrub the animation to see if you've got the result you want
7) If you need to make some tweaks, undo, or delete the generated keyframes,
   then repeat the process again from step 4 until you've got the desired result.

5a6534a5bb Fix forward-compat Nodes write code being executed also for undo steps writing.
Forward compatibility code should never, ever be run during undo saving.

Note: related to T49991 (but does not fix it either, crash now happens
when doing a real file save...).

b6d35e1fa7 Viewport smoke: add support to render the volume using a color ramp.
This is yet another debug option that allows to render an arbitrary
simulation field by using a color ramp to inspect its voxel values.
Note that when using this, fire rendering is turned off.

cbd3827d83 Fix T49460: Particle group instance 'Use Count' value gets reset on file-load.
Regression caused rBbcc863993ad, write code was assuming dw->ob was always valid,
wich is no more the case right after reading file e.g.

Another good example of how bad it is to use 'hidden' dependencies between datablocks. :(
And another fix to be backported to 2.78a. :(((

61050f75b1 Basic Alembic support
All in all, this patch adds an Alembic importer, an Alembic exporter,
and a new CacheFile data block which, for now, wraps around an Alembic
archive. This data block is made available through a new modifier ("Mesh
Sequence Cache") as well as a new constraint ("Transform Cache") to
somewhat properly support respectively geometric and transformation data
streaming from alembic caches.

4db1db327a readfile: report SDNA decoding errors on file read
This was printed to the stdout, however the error case wasn't checked or well supported.
Also, errors decoding SDNA would sometimes call exit(1).

a0793765ef writefile: avoid adding SDNA to every undo step
Since SDNA was allocated for each undo step,
the new address meant it was considered different and included again.

Add an option not to duplicate the DNA string when calling DNA_sdna_from_data,
as well as avoiding a redundant copy, it writes the same address each time.

c7e7c1b241 Write .blend file: refactor & fixes re ID block itself.
Factorized writing of ID block's data (so far, only IDProps) into own helper func.
This also fixes missing IDProp (aka custom data) saving from GreasePencil and Library
datablocks (and add comment about why we do not save WM IDProps).

Finaly, it ensures all ID-related data are written immediately after the ID itself
(was not the case for all data types previously, some were writting their own data
before IDProps). This is not a fix (.blend file format does not enforce any order
on sub-data of datablocks, they only have to be after datablock struct itself in file),
but makes things more consistent.

Rename calls didn't check if the file existed first, so missing file was counted as success and ignored.

3fcf535d2e Split id->flag in two, persistent flags and runtime tags.
This is purely internal sanitizing/cleanup, no change in behavior is expected at all.

This change was also needed because we were getting short on ID flags, and
future enhancement of 'user_one' ID behavior requires two new ones.

id->flag remains for persistent data (fakeuser only, so far!), this also allows us
100% backward & forward compatibility.

New id->tag is used for most flags. Though written in .blend files, its content
is cleared at read time.

Note that .blend file version was bumped, so that we can clear runtimeflags from
old .blends, important in case we add new persistent flags in future.

Also, behavior of tags (either status ones, or whether they need to be cleared before/after use)
has been added as comments to their declaration.

8ad2808fd7 Tighten checks around unlinkable datablocks becoming LIB_EXTERN.
We have currently a gooseberry file (scenes/01_island/01_meet_franck/01_01_01_A/01_01_01_A.anim.blend)
that links against two -pre repo libs, which are hence not available for common mortals,
and generate warnings and placeholders during load step.

Issue is, among those missing (directly) linked datablocks, we have two shapekeys!

This should never happen nor be possible at all. I tried understanding how this could happen,
with no luck at all, best bet would be some wild/bad call to `id_us_plus()` over those skeys
at some point...

Anyway, this commit:
- Handles a bit better those 'cases that should never happen' at load time.
- Adds several checks in ID handling code (and save/load code) to try to detect where/when
  a non-linkable datablock becomes LIB_EXTERN (i.e. directly linked).

f29f4c92f2 BGE: Remove KX_IPOActuator.
KX_IPOActuator is not used since 2.4.

This patch removes:
	- KX_IPOActuator.h/cpp;
	- Python doc;
	- Write of IPO actuator in write.c;
	- Allocation of IPOactuator in sca.c;
	- Conversion in KX_ConvertActuators.cpp;
	- Initialization of the python proxy in KX_PythonInitTypes.cpp;
	- Other minor remove in logic_windows.c and in KX_PythonInit.cpp.

b909dfdae1 Cycles: Expose user-defined shutter curve to the interface
Shutter curve now can be controlled using curve mapping widget in the motion
blur panel in Render buttons. Only mapping from 0..1 by x axis are allowed,
Y values will be normalized to fill in 0..1 space as well automatically.

Y values of 0 means fully closed shutter, Y values of 1 means fully opened
shutter.

Default mapping is set to old behavior when shutter opens and closes instantly.

This shutter mapping curve could easily be used by any other render engine by
accessing scene.render.motion_blur_shutter_curve.
