fcc2ca0089 Fix T42401: Gaussian blur node is visibly squared-off at larger sizes
The root of the issue comes to the way how we sample the gaussian filter in
RE_filter_value(). We need to scale x to -3*sigma..3*sigma segment in order
to get the whole bell.

The old code tried to do it, but failed dramatically, plus it used some weird
gaussian sampling formula. Replaced it with much more clear one, which gives
proper blur now.

There's no visible different in AA sampling in BI render tho.

Other filters like Mitchell still tends to give wrong square shaped blurs,
but they're much more difficult to resolve because they're just wrong in
the code -- for some reason smaller kernel size means more blur. Let's solve
this later.

fb91a602c7 Blender Internal:
* Remove "Edge" post processing effect and the corresponding render layer.

Since we have freestyle, this is not needed anymore and was a very simple effect anyway (Zbuffer filter effect, could be added to the compositor if really needed again).

759ea40787 Render engines: replace number of x/y tiles with tile size
Now tile size is setting up explicitly instead of using number of tiles.

This allows better control over GPU performance, where having tiles aligned
to specific size makes lots of sense.

Still to come: need to update startup.blend  to make tiles size 64x64.

f5cc313d9d Clamp minimal tile size with Save Buffers and FSAA enabled
That was an old check whether tiled EXRs are used during rendering
since version 2.42 where there indeed was a special check for tile
size in EXR tile code.

Now it seems EXR could handle tiles with non-equal size and no
extra tile size check happens for EXR. Anyway EXR tile initialization
happens after initparts, so clamping size in initparts should be
safe for EXR tiles as well.

adea12cb01 Cycles: merge of changes from tomato branch.
Regular rendering now works tiled, and supports save buffers to save memory
during render and cache render results.

5d2a155f2b Camera: some more refactoring, mostly in the function that computes the camera
border, now we just get the border coordinates from comparing the viewport and
camera viewplanes.

539c94a051 Camera: some code refactoring, use an intermediate CameraParams struct instead
of long list of variables everywhere. Intention is to also let 3d view use this
eventually, instead of duplicating code.

4ea816837d Configurable sensor size:
- Added support of variable size sensor width and height.
- Added presets for most common cameras, also new presets can be defined by user.
- Added option to control which dimension (vertical or horizontal) of sensor
  size defines FOV. Old behavior of automatic FOV calculation is also kept.
- Renderer, viewport, game engine and collada importer/exporter should
  deal fine with this changes. Other exporters would be updated soon.

f8ec017900 floats were being promoted to doubles in quite a few cases (using gcc's -Wdouble-promotion), went over render module and use float constants, gives small but consistent speedup - approx 3%. 2011-08-20 17:39:13 +00:00

7f598451fc fix [#26906] Panorama Button (Camera Data Properties)
- render check for ortho/panorama combination wasn't working since the flags were not initialized at the time of checking.
- disable panorama button in ortho mode.

89c9aaaa25 remove references to BKE_utildefines where its not needed.
- move GS() define into DNA_ID.h
- add BLI_utildefines as an automatic include with makesrna generated files.

8f21a43535 split BKE_utildefines.h, now it only has blender specific defines like GS() MAKE_ID, FILE_MAXDIR, moved the generic defines to BLI_utildefines.h.

f4298de8aa utility function object_camera_matrix, moved code from RE_SetCamera into this.
use for getting the render matrix of a camera (view plane, winmat, clipstart/end) without rendering.

de90619a46 Fix #20452: motion blur buttons were missing. Motion blur samples
are now also decoupled from antialiasing samples. Implemented by

41fb3626f3 2.5: Render
* UI layout for scene buttons has quite some changes, I tried to
  better organize things according to the pipeline, and also showing
  important properties by default, and collapsing less important ones.

Some changes compared to 2.4x:
* Panorama is now a Camera property.
* Sequence and Compositing are now enabled by default, but will only
  do something when there is a node tree using nodes, or a strip in the
  sequence editor.
* Enabling Full Sample now automatically enables Save Buffers too.
* Stamp option to include info in file is removed, it now simply always
  does this if one of the stamp infos is enabled.
* Xvid, H.264 and Ogg Theora are now directly in the file format menu,
  but still using FFMPEG. Unfortunately Ogg is broken at the moment
  (also in 2.4x), so that's disabled. And Xvid crashes on 64bit linux,
  maybe solvable by upgrading extern/xvidcore/, using ubuntu libs makes
  it work.
* Organized file format menu by image/movie types.

Added:
* Render layers RNA wrapped, operatorized, layouted.
* FFMPEG format/codec options are now working.

Defaults changed:
* Compositing & Sequencer enabled.
* Tiles set to 8x8.
* Time/Date/Frame/Scene/Camera/Filename enabled for stamp.

44e5b7788b 2.5: Blender "Animato" - New Animation System
Finally, here is the basic (functional) prototype of the new animation system which will allow for the infamous "everything is animatable", and which also addresses several of the more serious shortcomings of the old system. Unfortunately, this will break old animation files (especially right now, as I haven't written the version patching code yet), however, this is for the future.

Highlights of the new system:
* Scrapped IPO-Curves/IPO/(Action+Constraint-Channels)/Action system, and replaced it with F-Curve/Action. 
- F-Curves (animators from other packages will feel at home with this name) replace IPO-Curves. 
- The 'new' Actions, act as the containers for F-Curves, so that they can be reused. They are therefore more akin to the old 'IPO' blocks, except they do not have the blocktype restriction, so you can store materials/texture/geometry F-Curves in the same Action as Object transforms, etc.
* F-Curves use RNA-paths for Data Access, hence allowing "every" (where sensible/editable that is) user-accessible setting from RNA to be animated.
* Drivers are no longer mixed with Animation Data, so rigs will not be that easily broken and several dependency problems can be eliminated. (NOTE: drivers haven't been hooked up yet, but the code is in place)
* F-Curve modifier system allows useful 'large-scale' manipulation of F-Curve values, including (I've only included implemented ones here): envelope deform (similar to lattices to allow broad-scale reshaping of curves), curve generator (polynomial or py-expression), cycles (replacing the old cyclic extrapolation modes, giving more control over this). (NOTE: currently this cannot be tested, as there's not access to them, but the code is all in place)
* NLA system with 'tracks' (i.e. layers), and multiple strips per track. (NOTE: NLA system is not yet functional, as it's only partially coded still)

So, what currently works:
* I've implemented two basic operators for the 3D-view only to Insert and Delete Keyframes. These are tempolary ones only that will be replaced in due course with 'proper' code.
* Object Loc/Rot/Scale can be keyframed. Also, the colour of the 'active' material (Note: this should really be for nth material instead, but that doesn't work yet in RNA) can also be keyframed into the same datablock.
* Standard animation refresh (i.e. animation resulting from NLA and Action evaluation) is now done completely separate from drivers before anything else is done after a frame change. Drivers are handled after this in a separate pass, as dictated by depsgraph flags, etc.

Notes:
* Drivers haven't been hooked up yet
* Only objects and data directly linked to objects can be animated.
* Depsgraph will need further tweaks. Currently, I've only made sure that it will update some things in the most basic cases (i.e. frame change).
* Animation Editors are currently broken (in terms of editing stuff). This will be my next target (priority to get Dopesheet working first, then F-Curve editor - i.e. old IPO Editor)
* I've had to put in large chunks of XXX sandboxing for old animation system code all around the place. This will be cleaned up in due course, as some places need special review.
In particular, the particles and sequencer code have far too many manual calls to calculate + flush animation info, which is really bad (this is a 'please explain yourselves' call to Physics coders!).

The old favorite G.scene gone! Man... that took almost 2 days.
Also removed G.curscreen and G.edbo.

Not everything could get solved; here's some notes.
- modifiers now store current scene in ModifierData. This is not
  meant for permanent, but it can probably stick there until we
  cleaned the anim system and depsgraph to cope better with
  timing issues.
- Game engine G.scene should become an argument for staring it.
  Didn't solve this yet.
- Texture nodes should get scene cfra, but the current implementation
  is too tightly wrapped to do it easily.

2a331067cc resolve some compiler warnings with intel c/c++ compiler
* subsurf code had a lot of unused variables, removed these where they are obviously not needed. commented if they could be useful later.
* some variables declorations hide existing variables (many of these left), but fixed some that could cause confusion.
* removed unused vars
* obscure python memory leak with colorband.
* make_sample_tables had a loop running wasnt used.
* if 0'd functions in arithb.c that are not used yet.
* made many functions static
