402a9d5938 Better smoothing for sculpt cube falloff.
The cube test, used by the clay strips brush, now smooths the corners
of the cube using the brush curve.

110fa100ff Re-enable the clay strips sculpt brush.
Most of the tool code was already in place, only significant
functionality change is that anchored stroke works now.

TODO:
* Gave it a new icon, but could use a better one
* Default .blend should have a clay strips brush

3d87c23f4f Reduce poly map memory usage (used by sculpt smooth brush.)
Changed the create_vert_poly_map function to return a more compact
structure. Memory saved will vary depending on the mesh, but typically
it should be about one third of the old size.

7454d939c5 Add partial visibility operator including keymaps and menu items.
Uses HKEY for border hide, CTRL+HKEY for border show, and ALT+HKEY for
show all.

f11d7a426f fix for bug in ED_view3d_project_float that only effected the 'Rip' tool.
when the source and destination vectors were the same pointer, the X value would get overwritten.

now the rip tool uses the best side to grab as in trunk.

1ebb6e3360 Code cleanup for the neighbor_average() sculpt function.
Moved some of the code into a couple new mesh functions for searching
in poly loops to simplify the function, the rest is just cosmetic
changes.

776ec0ec61 add function for getting a polygon map: dm->getPolyMap(ob, dm).
polygon version of dm->getFaceMap(ob, dm)

sculpt uses this for checking connectivity.

abf7b4d84a Move paint's WM paint cursor code into a new file.
The paint cursor code is fairly muddled still and needs futher cleanup
(commented in the new file.) Over half the paint_stroke code was just
called from the cursor draw function.

There should be no functional changes from this.

30e759c75b Fix all remaining unified paint settings uses of current Scene.
Things like brush size and strength accessors now take a scene
parameter rather than guessing about which Scene's unified paint
settings to use.

Setting the size/strength through RNA can now be done separately for
the brush or the UnifiedPaintSettings.

The UI python code required updating to check whether the
size/strength controls should use brush or UnifiedPaintSettings RNA.

Radial control also required some updates to switch between the two
RNA sources.

b2ae44dc41 Fix some RNA/scene issuess with unified paint settings.
Added RNA for the unified paint setting flags that matches the Brush
RNA. Fixed the getter/setter functions to avoid guessing which Scene's
UnifiedPaintSetting to use. The getter functions take a Scene pointer
now, the setter functions are removed in favor of a more explicit
approach through RNA:

Rather than RNA choosing whether a property's value is in the Brush or
in the UnifiedPaintSettings, there are now explicit properties for
both. The UI code has been modified accordingly to switch the toggle
buttons between affecting the Brush and the UnifiedPaintSettings.

51bada696f Longer names support for all ID and other object names
This commit extends limit of ID and objects to 64 (it means 63 meaning
characters and 1 for zero-terminator). CustomData layers names are also
extended.
Changed DNA structures and all places where length constants were hardcoded.

All names which are "generating" from ID block should be limited by MAX_ID_NAME-2,
all non-id names now has got own define called MAX_NAME which should be used all
over for non-id names to make further name migration stuff easier.

All name fields in DNA now have comment with constant which corresponds to
hardcoded numeric value which should make it easier to further update this
limits or even switch to non-hardcoded values in DNA.

Special thanks to Campbell who helped figuring out some issues and helped a lot
in finding all cases where hardcoded valued were still used in code.

Both of forwards and backwards compatibility is stored with blender versions newer
than January 5, 2011. Older versions had issue with placing null-terminator to
DNA strings on file load which will lead to some unpredictable behavior or even
crashes.

2b2c1007f6 rename normal calc functions.
comparing bmesh to trunk, mesh_calc_normals() in bmesh is a much more comprehensive function, calculating mpoly,mface normals, where trunk only calculated vertex normals.

renamed:
* mesh_calc_normals() --> mesh_calc_normals_mapping_ex
* mesh_calc_tessface_normals --> mesh_calc_normals_tessface() - only calculates normals from tessface
* added mesh_calc_normals() - only calculates normals from poltys

this way we can have mesh_calc_normals() remain fast for parts of the code which only need vertex normals to be updated.

only refactor, no func changes- didnt replace mesh_calc_normals_mapping_ex() with mesh_calc_normals() anywhere yet.

5f3b1a9767 Factor out some generic parts of the sculpting PBVH redraw planes code.
One function converts bounding boxes to screen space, the other
converts a screen-space rectangle to 3D clipping planes.

Also const-ified some parameters in the ED_view3d API.

be no functional changes. Thanks to Campbell for pointing out the
issue.

04fbfc2179 Calculation of the center and normal for sculpting would ignore whether the sculpting tool is using the current vertex positions/normals or the positions/normals from before the current edit. Most of the time this will lead to subtle and hard to predict differences from what a user might expect. There was sum testing and discussion about at the end of last summer and even some screen shots showing the difference. I'm going to go ahead and apply this since I do not think it is controversial. 2011-12-17 03:49:39 +00:00
