47396ea81e Fix T96123: Crash when click-dragging across the visibility icons
Partially revert aa71414dfc

This attempted have the click-drag event compatible with old tweak
events, but needs to be re-thought since it caused events to be handled
in unexpected situations.

102644cb8c Fix releasing modifier keys suppressing drag events
Always use event.prev_click_type since this is never set on key-release,
which could still interrupt dragging (box selecting for example).

4986f71848 Event System: remove tweak events in favor of click-drag
Supporting two kinds of dragging is redundant, remove tweak events as
they only supported 3 mouse buttons and added complexity from using the
'value' to store directions.

Support only click-drag events (KM_CLICK_DRAG) which can be used with
any keyboard or mouse button.

Details:

- A "direction" member has been added to keymap items and events which
  can be used when the event value is set to KM_CLICK_DRAG.

- Keymap items are version patched.

- Loading older key-maps are also updated.

- Currently the key-maps stored in ./release/scripts/presets/keyconfig/
  still reference tweak events & need updating. For now they are updated
  on load.

Note that in general this wont impact add-ons as modal operators don't
receive tweak events.

aa71414dfc Fix click-drag events for dragging markers
Clicking and dragging markers accumulates flags from multiple operators
in a way that can't be interpreted when combine.

Follow tweak behavior for cancelling click-drag events.

cf428b2ebd Fix ignored click-drag events when operators pass-through & finished
Replacing tweak key-map items with click-drag caused selection
in the graph/sequencer/node editors to ignore drag events
(all uses of WM_generic_select_modal).

Operators that return OPERATOR_PASS_THROUGH | OPERATOR_FINISHED
result in the event loop considering the event as being handled.

This stopped WM_CLICK_DRAG events from being generated which is not the
case for tweak events.

As click-drag is intended to be compatible with tweak events,
accept drag events when WM_HANDLER_BREAK isn't set or when
wm_action_not_handled returns true.

9bd586a01e Fix T95608: Mac issues with drag drop on multi-monitor
Mousemove events are sent to windows.

In Windows OS, almost all mousemove events are sent to the window whose
mouse cursor is over.

On MacOS, the window with mousemove events is always the active window.
It doesn't matter if the mouse cursor is inside or outside the window.

So, in order for non-active windows to also have events,
`WM_window_find_under_cursor` is called to find those windows and send
the same events.

The problem is that to find the window, `WM_window_find_under_cursor`
only has the mouse coordinates available, it doesn't differentiate
which monitor these coordinates came from.

So the mouse on one monitor may incorrectly send events to a window on
another monitor.

The solution used is to use a native API on Mac to detect the window
under the cursor.

For Windows and Linux nothing has changed.

90ec634135 Fix incorrect drag-event threshold when releasing modifiers early
db4313610c added support for modifier
keys to be released while dragging.

The key release events set wmEvent.prev_type which is used select the
drag threshold, causing the wrong threshold to be used.

Add wmEvent.prev_click_type which is only set when the drag begins.

8a8424021c Cleanup: move Event.is_repeat & is_direction_inverted to flags
Use a flag for events to avoid adding struct members every time a new
kind of tag is needed - so events remain small.

This also simplifies copying settings as flags can be copied at once
with a mask.

db4313610c Event System: drag events now use modifier state on drag start
Now drag & tweak can have modifier keys to be released while dragging.
without this, modifier keys needs to be held which is more noticeable
for tablet input or whenever the drag threshold is set to a large value.

Resolves T89989.

ad0b3abf53 Cleanup: use flags for wmEvent modifier keys
Using flags makes checking multiple modifiers at once more convenient
and avoids macros/functions such as IS_EVENT_MOD & WM_event_modifier_flag
which have been removed. It also simplifies checking if modifier keys
have changed.

c434782e3a File headers: SPDX License migration
Use a shorter/simpler license convention, stops the header taking so
much space.

Follow the SPDX license specification: https://spdx.org/licenses

- C/C++/objc/objc++
- Python
- Shell Scripts
- CMake, GNUmakefile

While most of the source tree has been included

- `./extern/` was left out.
- `./intern/cycles` & `./intern/atomic` are also excluded because they
  use different header conventions.

doc/license/SPDX-license-identifiers.txt has been added to list SPDX all
used identifiers.

See P2788 for the script that automated these edits.

35aedd87e7 Fix T66913: undo after frame-change doesn't refresh properly
Use the ID.recalc flag to detect when updates after frame-change is
needed. Since comparing the last calculated frame doesn't take undo into
account (see code-comment for details).

`ID_RECALC_AUDIO_SEEK` has been renamed to `ID_RECALC_FRAME_CHANGE`
since this is not only related to audio however internally this flag is
still categorized in `NodeType::AUDIO`.

92d747b0c4 Drag & drop: Support using context of hovered button when dropping
Buttons can hold context and it's very useful to use this as a way to
let buttons provide context for drop operators.
For example, with this D13549 can make the material slot list set the
material-slot pointer for each row, and the drop operator can just query
that.

87c13ac68c UX: Prevent click-through panels and used header area
Does two main changes:
* Handle regions in the order as visible on screen. Practically this
  just means handling overlapping regions before non-overlapping ones.
* Don't handle any other regions after having found one containing the
  mouse pointer.

a21bca0e20 Performance: Remap multiple items in UI
During sprite fright loading of complex scenes would spend a long time in remapping ID's
The remapping process is done on a per ID instance that resulted in a very time consuming
process that goes over every possible ID reference to find out if it needs to be updated.

If there are N of references to ID blocks and there are M ID blocks that needed to be remapped
it would take N*M checks. These checks are scattered around the place and memory.
Each reference would only be updated at most once, but most of the time no update is needed at all.

Idea: By grouping the changes together will reduce the number of checks resulting in improved performance.
This would only require N checks. Additional benefits is improved data locality as data is only loaded once
in the L2 cache.

It has be implemented for the resyncing process and UI editors.
On an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz 16Gig the resyncing process went
from 170 seconds to 145 seconds (during hotspot recording).

After this patch has been applied we could add similar approach
to references (references between data blocks) and functionality (tagged deletion).
In my understanding this could reduce the resyncing process to less than a second.
Opening the village production file between 10 and 20 seconds.

460e0a1347 Revert "Performance: Remap multiple items in UI"
This reverts commit 948211679f.
This commit introduced some regressions in the test suite.
As this change is a core part of blender Bastien and I decided to revert
it as the solution isn't clear and needs more investigation.

The following tests FAILED:
	 62 - blendfile_liblink (SEGFAULT)
	 63 - blendfile_library_overrides (SEGFAULT)

It fails in (id_us_ensure_real)

b5c18288f5 Fix T93649: Blender freezes when saving with active VR session
Dead-lock when VR viewport drawing and depsgraph updates would fight for
the draw-manager GL lock. This didn't usually cause issues because the
depsgraph would be evaluated at this point already, except in rare
exceptions like after file writing.

Fix this by ensuring the XR surface gets its depsgraph updated after
handling notifiers, which is where regular windows also do the depsgraph
updating.

3850fdd5b9 Assets: Sanitize threaded preview creation with undo
Basically, this fixes disappearing previews when editing asset metadata
or performing undo/redo actions.

The preview generation in a background job will eventually modify ID
data, but the undo push was done prior to that. So obviously, an undo
then would mean the preview is lost.

This patch makes it so undo/redo will regenerate the preview, if the preview
rendering was invoked but not finished in the undone/redone state.

The preview flag PRV_UNFINISHED wasn't entirely what we needed. So I had to
change it to a slightly different flag, with different semantics.

cd2849c89b Asset Browser: add operator for installing asset bundles
Add an operator "Copy to Asset Library" for installing asset bundles
into already-existing asset libraries.

The operator is shown when:
- the "Current File" library is selected,
- the blend file name matches `*_bundle.blend`, and
- the file is not already located in an asset library.

The user can select a target asset library, then gets a "Save As"
dialogue box to select where in that library the file should be saved.
This allows for renaming, saving in a subdirectory, etc.

The Asset Catalogs from the asset bundle are merged into the target
asset library.

The operator will refuse to run when external files are referenced. This
is not done in its poll function, as it's quite an extensive operator
(it loops over all ID datablocks).

This feature has been desired for some time:
- https://rightclickselect.com/p/ui/Tqbbbc/allow-navigating-while-transforming (See comments);
- D1583;
- T37427;

In short, blocking navigation during transform limits the user to move the object only to visible areas within the screen and hinders the allocation of objects within closed meshes.

The node editor is also impaired because some nodes are far between them and the connectors are too small.

The only disadvantage of this patch (as I see it) is the conflict with the existing key map:
MIDDLEMOUSE:
- enable axis constrain in 3D view;

WHEELDOWNMOUSE, WHEELUPMOUSE, PAGEUPKEY, PAGEDOWNKEY:
- change the threshold of the proportional edit;

So the patch solution was to change these keymaps:
- MIDDLEMOUSE to Alt+MIDDLEMOUSE;
- WHEELDOWNMOUSE, WHEELUPMOUSE, PAGEUPKEY, PAGEDOWNKEY to Alt+(corresponding key);

When you use this new keymap for the first time in the proportional edit, it may seem strange due to the custom of using it (both in View2D and View3D).
But quickly the user gets used to it.

Alternatively we can add an option to the user preferences ([] Allow navigating while transforming). (I'm not much fan of this option).

The patch was done on branch2.8. But maybe it's a good idea to apply it to 2.79

Adds a `wmOperatorCallContext` typedef for the existing `WM_OP_XXX`
operator context enum. This adds type safety, allows the compiler to
produce better warnings and helps understanding what a variable is for.

37b862fa6c Cleanup: Remove operator context override for drop-box operators
Drop-boxes should act on the context determined through the exact cursor
location. There should be no need to override that, basically by the
nature of how drop-boxes work.
So Campbell and I agreed on removing this.

If we wanted to support it, we'd have to restore the operator context
when drawing drop-boxes, see

aea7e55522 WM: de-duplicate cursor motion checks for selection picking
Replace local static mouse coordinate storage with a single function.
also resolve inconsistencies.

- Edit-mesh selection used equality check (ignoring `U.move_threshold`).
- Motion to clear tooltips checked the value without scaling by the DPI.

Also prevent the unlikely case of the previous motion check matching
a different area by resetting the value when the active region changes.

df2e053935 UI: Improved feedback when dropping is not possible on drag 'n drop
* Allow operators to show a "disabled hint" in red text explaining why dropping
  at the current location and in current context doesn't work. Should greatly
  help users to understand what's the problem.
* Show a "stop" cursor when dropping isn't possible, like it's common on OSes.

2743d746ea Cleanup: use an array for wmEvent cursor position variables
Use arrays for wmEvent coordinates, this quiets warnings with GCC11.

- `x, y` -> `xy`.
- `prevx, prevy` -> `prev_xy`.
- `prevclickx, prevclicky` -> `prev_click_xy`.

There is still some cleanup such as using `copy_v2_v2_int()`,
this can be done separately.
