3b8925c655 Particle Edit Mode:
* Fix crash trying to enter particle mode when the particle modifier
  is disabled in the stack.
* Fix redraw being very slow due to the draw function causing the
  object to be recalculated on each redraw (through PE_draw_object).

* Removed the system where PE_get_current would automatically create
  the particle edit, this would run from poll() functions, which gave
  all kinds of issues, now it only creates the data on enter/exit
  and switching active particle system.

df6c18e963 - object.selected is now editable (uses update function to flag the scene base)
- editing properties from python wasnt running their update function.
- missing commas made dir(context) give joined strings.
- added __undo__ as an operator class attribute so python ops can be set as undoable. (like existing __register__)

b4b031eae7 Fixed remaining bugs with animating rotation modes:
* Removed the hack-functions to set euler rotations from the values set in the other rotation representations, even when euler rotations weren't being used. I pressume that this was added for being able to represent quats in terms of eulers for the UI, but really it would break animation evaluation (i.e. euler curves after quaternion curves would always block the quaternion curves).

* Object rotation values in the transform properties panel now take into account rotation modes, so the appropriate rotations will get converted to quaternions before being drawn.

* Fixed a few bugs with some of the conversion code (minor stuff left out).

475ab5ceb4 Rotation Modes Bugfix:
Animating rotations using different rotation modes should now work more often than before.

Previously, quaternion and axis-angle values were stored in the same variable in DNA, but that was causing problems with other animation curves overwriting the values and causing the rotations to not work as expected.

There are still some issues, but I'll track those down later tonight

bff893a420 Unified effector functionality for particles, cloth and softbody
* Unified scene wide gravity (currently in scene buttons)
  instead of each simulation having it's own gravity.
* Weight parameters for all effectors and an effector group
  setting.
* Every effector can use noise.
* Most effectors have "shapes" point, plane, surface, every point.
	- "Point" is most like the old effectors and uses the
	  effector location as the effector point.
	- "Plane" uses the closest point on effectors local xy-plane
	  as the effector point.
	- "Surface" uses the closest point on an effector object's
	  surface as the effector point.
	- "Every Point" uses every point in a mesh effector object
	  as an effector point.
	- The falloff is calculated from this point, so for example
	  with "surface" shape and "use only negative z axis" it's
	  possible to apply force only "inside" the effector object.
* Spherical effector is now renamed as "force" as it's no longer
  just spherical.
* New effector parameter "flow", which makes the effector act as
  surrounding air velocity, so the resulting force is
  proportional to the velocity difference of the point and "air
  velocity". For example a wind field with flow=1.0 results in
  proper non-accelerating wind.
* New effector fields "turbulence", which creates nice random
  flow paths, and "drag", which slows the points down.
* Much improved vortex field.
* Effectors can now effect particle rotation as well as location.
* Use full, or only positive/negative z-axis to apply force
  (note. the z-axis is the surface normal in the case of
  effector shape "surface")
* New "force field" submenu in add menu, which adds an empty
  with the chosen effector (curve object for corve guides).
* Other dynamics should be quite easy to add to the effector
  system too if wanted.
* "Unified" doesn't mean that force fields give the exact same results for
  particles, softbody & cloth, since their final effect depends on many external
  factors, like for example the surface area of the effected faces.

Code changes
* Subversion bump for correct handling of global gravity.
* Separate ui py file for common dynamics stuff.
* Particle settings updating is flushed with it's id through
  DAG_id_flush_update(..).

Known issues
* Curve guides don't yet have all ui buttons in place, but they
  should work none the less.
* Hair dynamics don't yet respect force fields.

Other changes
* Particle emission defaults now to frames 1-200 with life of 50
  frames to fill the whole default timeline.
* Many particles drawing related crashes fixed.
* Sometimes particles didn't update on first frame properly.
* Hair with object/group visualization didn't work properly.
* Memory leaks with PointCacheID lists (Genscher, remember to
  free pidlists after use :).

7d2fd5449e Durian Feature Request: Rotation Modes for Objects
This (biggish) commit generalises the rotation modes functionality added for Bones, allowing Objects to use the various Euler Rotation orders, Axis-Angle, and Quaternion rotation representations.

I've also cleaned up the nomenclature of the rotation-related settings so that the naming styles are more consistent with each other. Unfortunately, this will break all files involving object or bone rotation animation made in 2.5 versions (2.4x will still get correctly converted).

General Notes:
* By default, Objects still default to using Eulers, while Bones will use Quaternions by default still.
* I've fixed all areas that I'm currently aware of to work with these changes. However, there are probably a few places where I've missed a few changes (i.e. auto-keyframing will need attention later).
* Removed the old "IPO-Keys" stuff from Transform code. I'm unlikely to restore this in the near future, and trying to fix that to include support for this commit would have been too much work.

abb49829ef Manual merge of soc-2009-kazanbas branch:
* copied I/O scripts
* copied, modified rna_*_api.c and rna_*.c

I/O scripts not working yet due to slight BPY differences and RNA changes. Will fix them later.

Not merged changes:

* C unit testing integration, because it is clumsy
* scons cross-compiling, can be merged easily later

* PROP_NEVER_NULL is now a flag instead of a subtype.
* It works for function parameters too now, so setting
  this flag can help avoid NULL checks in the function.
* Renamed LocalLamp to PointLamp, making it consistent
  with the UI name.
* Set icons for the different lamp struct types.

297a53ebf8 RNA: multidimensional & dyanmic array changes
* Disable setting array length of dynamic array for now, this was not
  implemented correct, and it's not really needed now.
* Allow all dimensions to be dynamic size, not just the first.
* Change storage of multidimensional to be simpler.
* Rename API functions to be more compact.
* Fix some bugs in the implementation.
* RenderLayer.rect and RenderPass.rect use a multidimensional
  dynamic array now.

* Rename files to have consistent object_ and mball_ prefix:
  object_shapekey.c, object_lattice.c, object_vgroup.c, mball_edit.c.
* Added operators:
  * vertex group menu and set active
  * apply location, rotation, scale, visual transform (location is new)
  * make local
  * make vertex parent
  * move to layer
  * convert to curve/mesh (not finished yet)
* Many small fixes for marked issues, but still much code to be cleaned
  up here...

Notifiers
---------

Various fixes for wrong use of notifiers, and some new notifiers
to make things a bit more clear and consistent, with two notable
changes:

* Geometry changes are now done with NC_GEOM, rather than
  NC_OBJECT|ND_GEOM_, so an object does need to be available.
* Space data now use NC_SPACE|ND_SPACE_*, instead of data
  notifiers or even NC_WINDOW in some cases. Note that NC_SPACE
  should only be used for notifying about changes in space data,
  we don't want to go back to allqueue(REDRAW..).

Depsgraph
---------

The dependency graph now has a different flush call:

DAG_object_flush_update(scene, ob, flag)
is replaced by:
DAG_id_flush_update(id, flag)

It still works basically the same, one difference is that it now
also accepts object data (e.g. Mesh), again to avoid requiring an
Object to be available. Other ID types will simply do nothing at
the moment.

Docs
----

I made some guidelines for how/when to do which kinds of updates
and notifiers. I can't specify totally exact how to make these
decisions, but these are basically the guidelines I use. So, new
and updated docs are here:

c15db042cc Grease Pencil: WIP Code Reordering + Context Stuff
* Shuffled some code around, and renamed some functions used for getting context info
- Split UI-buttons into a separate file from stroke-drawing code
- Removed some obsolete code (i.e. old paint code that used to be in _edit, but which has been moved to _paint).

* Made drawing in 3D-View default to using the active object as the owner of the Grease Pencil data. For now, the drawing code will therefore only show the GP data for the active object only. More work to come on this.

* Fixed freeing code for Objects/Scenes with GP data.

706a4c22b5 Implemented dynamic and multidimensional array support in RNA.
Example code: http://www.pasteall.org/7332/c.
New API functions: http://www.pasteall.org/7330/c.

Maximum number of dimensions is currently limited to 3, but can be increased arbitrarily if needed.

What this means for ID property access:

* MeshFace.verts - dynamic array, size 3 or 4 depending on MFace.v4
* MeshTextureFace.uv - dynamic, 2-dimensional array, size depends on MFace.v4
* Object.matrix - 2-dimensional array

What this means for functions:

* more intuitive API possibility, for example:
  Mesh.add_vertices([(x, y, z), (x, y, z), ...])
  Mesh.add_faces([(1, 2, 3), (4, 5, 6), ...])

Python part is not complete yet, e.g. it is possible to:

MeshFace.verts = (1, 2, 3) # even if Mesh.verts is (1, 2, 3, 4) and vice-versa
MeshTextureFace.uv = [(0.0, 0.0)] * 4 # only if a corresponding MFace is a quad

but the following won't work:

MeshTextureFace.uv[3] = (0.0, 0.0) # setting uv[3] modifies MTFace.uv[1][0] instead of MTFace.uv[3]

d86663ee1a 2.5/Modes:
* Added OBJECT_OT_mode_set for setting the object mode. Takes one property, "mode", which can be any of the OB_MODE_* flags. The available modes are limited based on the active object (e.g. only meshes can have sculptmode, and so forth.)
* Set the icon properties in the object mode enum RNA

f6682ab773 RNA: subtypes and units
* Reviewed subtypes, making them more specific and adding new ones.
* Subtypes now have an associated type of units (length, area, volume,
  mass, rotation, time, velocity, acceleration). These are not used
  yet anywhere.
* Centralized code that decides the name of array items based on

84c8992e61 RNA Wrapping Fixes:
* Changed update callbacks for several armature properties to do proper depsgraph flushing instead of sending redraw notifiers

* Wrapped preview-range settings for Scene

* Fixed bug with 'parent-type' enum menu for Object parent-type. The problem here was that PARSKEL was used and is still used for both Armatures and Lattices, but the lattice entry would always override armatures entry. Now, when dynamically building the list to display, the function to add these is given the specific item to use, and has been made to stop after the first match has been added. Hopefully this doesn't break anything else...

1f4fa869e4 2.5: RNA & UI
* Revert lamp sampling/buffers change. The right enum items should
  be defined in RNA, not the layout, so that it works in outliner,
  python api too.
* Also changed type popup to radio buttons again, and removed the
  icons. This is more consistent, and I don't think it's a good idea
  to start using icons for these things, too much clutter.

* Replace Mesh with Normals panel in the mesh buttons.
* Remove Material panel from mesh buttons.
* Added name fields for shape/vgroup/vcol/uv.
* Spacing tweak to Object and Bone names.

* Fix some naming conflicts in RNA, with "name" and "type" properties
  being defined twice in the same struct.

* context.scene.tool_settings -> context.tool_settings.

* Objects now support up to 32767 material slots. It's easy to
  increase this further, but I prefer not to increase the memory
  usage of mesh faces, it seems unlikely that someone would
  create 32767 distinct materials?
* Forward compatibility: the only thing you can potentially lose
  reading a 2.5 file in 2.4 is object linking (instead of default
  data), though usually that will go fine too. Reading files with
  > 32 material slots in 2.4 can start giving issues.

* The ob->colbits variable is deprecated by the array ob->matbits
  but I didn't remove the ob->colbits updates in very few places
  it is set.
* I hope I changed all the relevant things, various places just
